Came in for a collection and told me it will take an hour

We went there for a meal during the day. It's a really nice place, they have a good selection of food, with a few menus depending on what you fancy and the time of day. When we went, the weather wasn't great, so we sat inside. But it does look like it would be a nice place to eat outside in the summer. The meals we had were all cooked perfectly and everything appeared to be fresh. I will be happy to go back again if I'm in the area.

Stuck in an accident on the A12 led us to an impromptu stop at The Highwayman and we were really pleased we did. We received a warm and friendly welcome and an excellent lunch. It’s an interesting building too.

We enjoyed a delicious mid week family lunch. Great value food and service, the new dining room is really smart. Looking forward to trying the Christmas menu later this week when we have an evening out with friends.

Have tried most of the Chinese in Stowmarket and found them very salty. Tried Mandarin in Old Newton ams was very impressed. Would recommend pick up, as always quicker and fresher than delivery. Great food at a fair price.

We were unhappy at having to wait an hour for our meals last night and received a public dressing down from the chef when we said so. Readers may be pleased to know that food is cooked from scratch but this is not made clear anywhere on the menu or by the waitress when ordering. This place describes itself as a pub, not a fine-dining restaurant. Being publicly humiliated spoiled our experience of the food and we won't be going there again.

Lovely freshly cooked wholesome British food, with some interesting twists on the specials board, more than just pub grub. I had steak, tomato and almond pie, mashed potato, carrots, cabbage and green beans followed by damson Panna cotte

First visit to this place which was recommended. Not a large menu which I think is positive. Front of house were excellent - do think the food was average and, as with many restaurants, the wine list was pricey. On balance glad to have tried but will not rush back

Awesome village pub, chilled atmosphere and lovely owners! Lush vegetarian choice. My partner loves his meat and really enjoys the menu here. Martin and Claire go above and beyond.

Visited with friends for the flrst time just before Christmas. It's a lovely old pub and our servers were friendly and welcoming. The food was nicely presented, tasty and filling. Some nice vegan options - I had the gnocchi which was plentiful and tasted really good. The salmon looked fab and apparently was delicious. I think the slightly high prices for village pub food might be offputting for some, but it wouldnt stop me from returning - plus they welcome dogs in the bar I believe which is always a thumbs up from me!

Always a welcome here. Staff efficient and friendly. Food is basic but well made and presented.

There are fish and chip shops and there is BOTESDALE FISH AND CHIP SHOP. A friendly, humorous yet professional atmosphere offering a menu with a variety of exceptionally tasty choices. The sturdy takeaway box was an exquisite touch as it kept the food hot for the journey home. Thank you Bryan. See you soon 🌹🌹🌹

Called in for lunch. Food was ok, nothing spectacular. What my review is really for, is as a grandmother of a child at the local primary school, we have used the dog car park for over 30 years for quickly running down to the school. A maximum of 20 mins a day. Never been an issue with previous owners. However, the new owner has decided this is now not allowed, after standing in the car park waving arms and shouting at parents, simply parking for 10 minutes to collect their children from school to get out of his car park. Now an email from the primary school headteacher, the dog have been in contact to inform he is hiring a private car park attendant to fine any parents parking at the dog. Honestly, where is the community spirit? For years as many as I can remember, parents have been welcomed to park in the dog. Now going to be fined?!? This has left a bad taste in parents, grandparents and carers alike mouths.
