The best restaurants in North Hertfordshire East of England

Terminating my 4 years loyalty with bodillys today and editing my 5 stars into 1 which I gave them 4 years ago. Ordered king prawn balls, went to pick it up after 45 minutes or an hour after placing the order, lady in the shop said it’s been too long so we are frying it again however I never asked to fry my food again & I knew that double fry will make food very oily, tasteless & super crunchy, I used like half a box of napkins to soak the oil out from prawn balls, after running out with all my napkins, I went in the shop again showed her the napkins full with oil and asked her some napkins, she said she only got 2 napkins for me, I was like really ? Food Takeaway has only 2 tissue paper for me, I came out the shop, picked up the bag of all the prawn balls in the bag from my car and gave it back to her to through it in the bin, she said ok, no sorry, no refund offered, no food obviously. Definitely some other Chinese takeaway worth this loyalty. AVOID, not worth at all with this attitude

I think they sold off their business as there are Indians working now something you never saw before only ever had Chinese working in the shop in there but for a long time now their prices have been rising way too much and the quality has dropped seriously low this is the last time I use this place the food was horrendous the spare ribs were so spare I was amazed to find bone let alone meat. to say this was seriously disappointing is a understatement.

The beauty & the beast themed afternoon tea was arranged here for my beautiful daughter & son in laws baby shower, We had private hire of the cabin I was really impressed when I walked in, It was such a lovely space which was so nice & cosy, The effort that the staff had gone to, to make it special was absolutely outstanding we couldn't have asked for more, On arrival staff were very accommodating, We had 6 children in our party the staff offered them a choice of what they would like in their sandwich which when you have children to please that was most welcome, The food was absolutely delicious, Very fresh & plenty of it. My 4 year old daughter especially loved the cake pops I think that I'll have to pop back sometime to pick some up from the takeaway counter for her as a treat. I would definitely go back again to the Sugar Boutique in the future & I 100% recommend this lovely little place, Thank you Sugar Boutique xXx

Amazing with very fast service very kind and positive service a very good selection of cakes and savoury food. Good portions and cozy seating. Very welcoming. Would 100% come again

Would not use this place again expensive pub food not up to standard very noisy doors shutting constantly needs a revamp inside terrible experience

A shame that they have stopped the all you can eat menu. I would willingly have paid more than £18.95 because the food is so good. Now it is 3 courses for £15.95 with a more limited choice. The quality of the food is still excellent but the portion sizes are far too small and we left feeling disappointed.

Was my go-to place for lunch whenever in Hitchin until today. I saw the man serving and making sandwiches stroke a customer’s dog several times and then go back to serving food without washing his hands. Was already eating my sandwich but quite put me off. Won’t be going back.

Went for Sunday roast with family. Food was fantastic, good sized portions and the gravy was particularly tasty. The kids meals were huge! Service was swift and staff really friendly. Very reasonably priced as well.

We came here for a meal on a Saturday evening. The food was delicious- we had lamb kofta and rice with the homemade chilli sauce (extremely tasty) and garlic mayo. However, the restaurant felt like it lacked an atmosphere- we were the only people inside (the tables outside were occupied), and we felt like it could do with feeling more like a restaurant than a cafe inside. One of the waitresses in particular was very friendly and overall we had a nice meal and it was extremely good value!!

Disgusting!!! Man racially abused calling me multiple racist slurs I was shocked to here these as a middle aged white woman in return I repeated these back to him and he was shocked because i think he was black Caribbean. Coffee was alright x

This corner cafe near the market changed hands, struggled, shut, and is now operating as a Caribbean restaurant and takeaway. If you're after an old-fashioned fry-up in Hitchin there are plenty of options, both basic and hipster, but you won't find it here any more.

Attended the drag queen bingo and the Silent Disco! What a night! Laughed, Sang and danced! What a unique amazing place.

Never been before so popped in, very cute spot in a nice area of town. Ordered one sandwich and some water which totalled £17. Took over 15 minutes to get the sandwich which was average at best (fatty meat/ cheese not melted). Pretty disappointed as it felt very overpriced. Always looking to support independent places but sadly won’t be back with slow service and average food.

Best Letchworth Bakers Best bakers in Letchworth and lovely staff. They serve the best Chelsea Buns ever and have not found any other bakers that sell them like this Date of visit: October 2020
