Nice hotel, good location and decent food

Love this little pub, just wish it was bigger inside for when the bands play, but first class otherwise

Wasn’t going to write this review, I was going to support this local business by grabbing a quick snack for myself, however the man behind the counter was really rude, he proceeded to to tell me after my burger was made they don’t accept card there was no sign or any sort of communication he was trying to get me into the back of the shop for some reason lord knows why but I apologise and said sorry I don’t have cash and he proceeds to say “no worries this goes in bin now” whilst proceeding to throw the burger in the bin; I also notice a few times whilst preparing my food he was touching his face and head with his hands. DO NOT GO HERE for even a cheap meal.

Got the new years special dish and the meat was very tender and the sauces were very good. Would recommend and be a returning customer

Food wasn't what I ordered. Service was inadequate didn't enjoy at all.

We only booked for one night, (9 Oct 24) but that was enough on checking we had to pay again simply because Hotels.com had not paid for it. It took me six days to get that back only after threatening them with the charge back. The card details they had were incorrect and would not accept that I did not have that card, but after two days they said oh we are awfully sorry for the mistake, we will refund your money as soon as possible. The next morning, we went for breakfast the restaurant was closed Doors locked, but then my wife noticed a woman running down the street round the back of the restaurant & inside and unlock door do you want breakfast? yes, was my reply, we entered got offered in a glass bottle, fizzy mango or mandarin drink would you like for English? Breakfast? Was my reply? When is arrived? It was one of each item that you normally get with a full English breakfast, the coffee was drinkable, It tasted a bit like Turkish coffee but about three times stronger, I like my coffee strong and black but even I couldn’t drink it it was so bitter it was unreal. Thank you to you, I believe she was the lady coming to Service bedrooms that were being vacated that day but made an effort which is more than I can say for the hotel itself. Answers to questions below the answers we have are not there certainly would describe it as luxury fairly adequate would certainly apply, The room I have to say was okay but this Hotel really does need to think about what it is trying to do if the year was 1955 it might just about be OK, (checking in was done on a piece of A4 printing paper) but in 2024 it does not come up to anywhere near the standard of anybody’s expectations. I have to say, I would not recommend this hotel/restaurant to anybody unless you are absolutely desperate steer well clear.

the food did not arrive. driver was at the wrong address - not the one on the order details and then marked the food as delivered and did not contact us again. £30 of food, no dinner, very upset family. No way to contact support. absolutely shocking service.

Excellent food, would highly recommend. Ordered and collected a variety of different dishes for seven people, all of it was perfect and everyone was happy.

Classic English unspoilt pub serving real ales. Lots of character, both the pub and staff! Good food. This pub is ideal for walking groups, you can do circular walks - south through Whitwell village or North through Hitchwood.

This McDonald’s was MASSIVE – and the fries? Low key slap. They taper the salt perfectly so the flavor doesn’t just fade.

Ok but overpriced now . Better food and value at Wetherspoons

Lovely meal at the Rusty Gun. Food was top notch, staff made us feel extremely welcome and were extremely accommodating and really good with our little one. It was a quiet evening for them but still a lovely atmosphere, sat by the real fire which was lovely and warm in the really cold temperatures we have been having recently. Overall a great evening!
