Fantastic pub. Don't normally go for pizza, but they have a giant pizza oven (painted like a cricket ball) and 2-4-1 on Tuesdays. Food is good, staff are lovely, and even though it's been extended out the back for a function room, it retains a fair amount of old country pub charm.

Got 2 pcs chicken and chips from here, the girl serving gave me the meal, I go and when I open it’s 2 pcs of thighs and they were absolutely disgusting and I had to throw them away , nobody likes thigh pieces why would you put 2 of them , and taste bad too, she should have asked what pieces would you like. Disappointing. 2 stars because chips were ok.

My friends and I came yesterday evening, I don’t normally write reviews but I was shocked at the standard of the cocktails that I thought I would. I’ll state first that everything else such as the service, was excellent and our food was served promptly. To the management/owners of the Globe Inn, do you think that £10 is the appropriate price for a glass of tepid pre mixed mojito with a few cubes of ice put in? (As pictured) I would’ve been happy, as the £10 I could’ve maybe justified if there was a bit of garnish on the drink to separate it more to feeling like I was just drinking something I’d just spent £1.50 on in the local shop.

Bad experience this time. It wasn't busy but our starters took 50 minutes to arrive. And that was after reminding them of this. We had finished our drinks so asked for one on the house due to the delay with our food. This was refused and told we would have to pay for more drinks. Very poor.

This is our local and has recently changed ownership, so we thought it was time to give it a try for Sunday lunch. The menu is quite limited on Sundays, a choice of roasts or a burger and chips. That’s about it. Not a problem, a good Sunday roast is as good as it gets. I opted for the pork belly and my wife went for a child’s portion of chicken, which turned out to be turkey, presumably left over from Christmas the week before. What became apparent when the plates arrived was that the child’s portion of turkey had roughly twice the amount of meat than the “adult” portion of pork and had a full sized sausage in a pig-in-blanket as well. I suggested to our waitress that a piece of pork measuring slightly less than 4” x 2” is not really enough to constitute a Sunday roast. She asked if I’d like her to see if I could have some more. She went to the kitchen to find out, and yes, I could have some more - for an additional 50% of the price! Insult to injury. Another waitress confirmed that all portions are cut to exactly the same size and that no-one has ever complained before. And the band played “believe it if you like”. It was a shame because the accompaniments were generally lovely, but we wouldn’t go to the Robin Hood and Little John again. I have nothing further to say about my experience, so I won’t be “reaching out” to the Management Team, although I do wonder where they all were at the time, to react directly to my complaint.
