The best restaurants in North Norfolk East of England

What a little gem. This is a wonderful tradition pub with really friendly staff and locals. Lucy not only gave us great service but was a wealth of knowledge. Look forward to returning when we are in the area again

Fish and chips served freshly cooked in a nice light batter. We treated ourselves to fish and chips here. It is on the pricey side for fish and chips but the staff and environment made it decent value. The views from the table were also nice, especially as it was a cold day. Toilets were nice and clean and hot water to wash and warm hands up. Good that we arrived at 12noon opening time as we could choose a table with a good view. It was busy when we visited. Overall will go again and again go early.

A nice place to drop in for a coffee. Particularly like the hot baguettes that are served for breakfast take away. Does trade somewhat on its reputation. Get a "Norfolk passport" if you are visiting as entitles you to 10% discount. Will need it as this is pricy - particularly the restaurant - visited there in the summer and prices noticeably increase and certainly signs of shrinkflation in the portions for breakfast compared to visits in prior years and could have been better valued. Getting plenty of competition now from other establishments in Holt and some of the local villages which offer some nice alternatives.

In desperate need of WiFi from 11-4 so I could attend a course while on holiday. Had 2 labradors with me. Staff so helpful - opened conservatory for me, and gave me and dogs the space for all that time. Hugely, hugely grateful. Thank you so much for your warm erkcomw and help!

The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The quality of the fish is amazing and the chips too. Our favourite place in Norfolk

Went to the new inn horning for Sunday lunch and can't praise it enough.The roast was perfect and the all the menu looked reasonably priced.The thing that really stood out was the staff very friendly and welcoming and could not do enough for us.Look forward to another visit.

I booked Christmas Lunch with a friend and it was terrible costing £130 plus drinks chard veg sloppy red cabbage cold soup and cold Christmas pudding and no sprouts . I sent an email put had no response. This was supposed to be a special occasion and sadly it wasn’t

Just had a delicious Brunch here . Busy filled with people of all ages and their dogs enjoying spending time in this Special place. Find it hard to believe that it will be closing? Hopefully somebody or a group will take it over next year .

Booked a last minute overnight stay to do a little dog walking on the beach and enjoy some quality family time. We were delighted to find such a beautiful and cosy place to stay with terrific food and hospitality. We were made to feel very welcome and will definitely return. Highly recommended.

So we usually love The Boathouse for a Sunday roast but was far from impressed this afternoon unfortunately, we haven’t been since they got rid of the carvery and in my opinion that was a travesty! The best carvery in Norfolk, I would even go to say! Today the veg was mediocre, roast potatoes were dry, not tasting fresh, the stuffing was dry and the overall meal was lacking… for such a lovely place and our experience’s previous to today I feel very disappointed. Maybe they need to rethink the carvery option as everything was fresh and hot before when having carvery, the only bit about today was the pork was ok, lacked in seasoning tho. Would not go back after today’s experience, although the staff are great here, it’s a real shame!

Really disappointed, food was not great. My fish had either been overcooked or refried, peas were hard. Rice was rock hard. Used to be able to guarantee a good meal but sadly we will not be returning

Nipped in for a spot of lunch and was both planning to have a jacket potato cheese and beans but then spotted the roast dinner That was it a quick change of mind and we both settled for the roast dinner We wasn't disappointed it was absolutely beautiful the beef was so tender as was the wife's turkey If you haven't been here go it's a beautiful lovely restaurant right by the sea

We called here for drinks on Thursday evening, 12 December 2024. My husband enjoyed the real ales which were on offer, both well kept and reasonably priced. For me, there was a very good selection of gins on offer, again very reasonably priced. The pub didn't close early, we were not put under any pressure to leave and the service, particularly by a gentleman called Martin, was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be calling there again!

We are regular visitors to the beach cafe when we are staying in the area. Great location for parking up and walking along the beach. Lovely coffee and a sandwich. A little pricey but what isn’t these days

Matinee performance at Thursford, then on to the white horse. Next day a trip to Norwich before heading home via Blickling Hall
