I visited this branch of Costa on the morning of the 17th of December, the two girls serving really couldn't be bothered. When I asked for some milk for my coffee it was as if I asked for a bottle of champagne on ice. The staff looked like they had both been sucking a lemon and had just dragged themselves out of bed to test their customer service skills and needless to say failed miserably! I won't be rushing back to this Costa any time soon.

The New Inn is our go to place. Good food and plenty of it with a varied menu to suit everyone. Staff are great. Welcoming and knowledgeable of their product. Nothing is too much trouble. Parking is available and the restaurant/pub is clean and tidy. On a more personal note...thank you for making mum feel special on her 95th birthday.

Myself and my husband came to the lamb on New Years Eve with my husbands father. This may be my father in laws last year where he is able to go out and have a few drinks to celebrate so we were looking for somewhere with a good atmosphere and a good vibe. Proud to say that I chose the lamb and what a great night it was. We never leave feedback but our night was made extra special by the barman who was serving upstairs. He closed the bar at some point and was sending everyone downstairs, I’m assuming to see the new year in. But he allowed the 3 of us to stay upstairs to drinks and play pool and said that if we wanted drinks while he was cleaning to just give him a shout, he went onto serve us from upstairs and the drinks were bought to us from the below bar. He also gave us directions to food places to go after closing and just made our night brilliant, especially with our circumstances. My husband and father in law insisted we leave this review for you. I am so sorry we didn’t get you’re name but you were superb, thank you and happy new year!

We visited the Malsters a few times through 2024 and decided to give a review. Although it's out of the way, this place has some of the friendliest staff who always take the time to talk with you and make you feel welcome. We have ate in a large group of 10 as well as smaller groups of 4, and the service and food has been consistently good. They have a great selection of real ales and lagers, so you have more than enough choice. The menu is pub grub with good quality and ample portions. We will probably visit more in 2025 as during the summer, they have lots of outside seating and the atmosphere always seems to have a nice buzz about the place. You must give this place a try. To the owners: Hope you have a great 2025

Poor service, extreme wait times for mediocre food. Waited 55 minutes for my starter that came out at the same time as my lukewarm main. Then waited 20 minutes for our plates to be cleared and asked multiple times whether we had ordered dessert, which we had. Waited a total of 30 minutes for a brownie that was lukewarm and cold in places. Other tables had the same issues and were told they were short on staff. We were not checked on throughout dinner and the service was poor. Finally the toilets were unsanitary and unusable with toilet paper all over the floor. I would have been more understanding if I was aware of the severe wait times prior to being sat at a table, but this was not the case. I used to enjoy this restaurant and now I don’t think I will ever return.

After last years fiasco with Christmas lunch where we sat down late received the wrong starters had to ask for our desserts and then being asked to have the coffee with dessert as they needed the table back , we thought we would try again because surely after going in and talking to the manager about what had happened and being reassured that would never happen again we said that everyone deserved a second chance!! So after going in to pay the balance in November to be told that our sit down time had changed from 3pm to 12 noon as there must of been a mistake and could not be changed we agreed and rearranged our plans then a week before Christmas had a phone call to say they had lost our menu order could we do it again which we did ! On Christmas Day we arrived at 11.50 with I should think another 200 people all at the same time taking our children into the play area to be told staff would be popping in and out !!! Sat down on time 👍 12 o clock nice table 👍 then waited 40 minutes for our pre booked food to then have to go up and ask for it finally it arrived. After the starters which were nice then had an hour wait in the queue for our carvery , both carvery’s open but only one poor chef serving both . Finally sat down with mains which again was very nice . Again after the main had to wait for dessert and coffee was brought with dessert and no mince as noted on menu . Coffee cold and people waiting for the next sitting 🫣 . Having worked in the industry surely a staggered seating would have avoided all the above. Goes without saying never again .

This was the first time we have dined at Prelude, we decided it would be nice to eat here before going to the pantomime, on arrival we were warmly greeted by a young man who showed us to our table, within no time a very attentive and friendly waitress came for our drinks order, and as we were ready our food order too. The food soon arrived, followed by the other two courses when we were ready. It was so nice to have our table for the duration of the evening, being able to leave our coats etc, and to return in the interval for our pre ordered drinks, all in all a throughly enjoyable evening, Thank you.

Been a few times now, first time was fantastic and we really enjoyed our experience however we went on the Sunday just gone and most things were out of stock, service was slow and my partners chicken burger from on the bone was stone cold and dry, not to mention the £15 price tag it came with and it came with no chips!! I would also like to point out every time we have been most if not all the service staff have come across rude and snappy, they could atleast try and put on a fake smile. I would recommend this place if you want a quick bite to eat and don’t care about service and happy with okay food. Nothing to scream and shout about.

I cannot fathom how this establishment has a 3-1/2 star review. If zero were an option, I would have chosen it. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone. It is over-priced for the food preparation and lack of any thought into the plating of the dishes. It was excessively noisy. We could barely carry on a conversation without having to constantly repeat ourselves. The first red flag were the rock-hard dinner rolls they served. They were inedible. Then, they inform us that at 6PM on a Saturday, they are out of veal. My wife went there anticipating ordering veal. How can you run out of an item so early on a Saturday? I thought the price of a NY Strip was too high so I went with the Prime Rib. They should be ashamed to call themselves Prime. It was the absolute worst example of prime rib I have ever eaten in six decades. It was far over-cooked, dry and chalky. I believe I know why. The prime rib was obviously not cooked that day. They took a piece of it out of the refrigerator and heated it up on a flat top rather than put it into a broiler. I can only assume they placed a weight on the piece of meat or pushed down on it with a spatula while it was reheating because they mashed all the juices out of it. Honestly, I think McDonald's could make a better prime rib. One side was burnt while the other side appeared to have never touched the flat top. The portion was small and looked lonely on the plate unadorned with any sort of embellishment. My wife resorted to ordering fish. The fish tasted good but the portions were relatively small compared to what we are accustomed at other establishments. The french fries that accompanied it were soggy and barely warm. Overall, it was a terrible experience. We rarely go out to restaurants as I am a disabled veteran. It's unfortunate that such a rare outing turned out to be so horrendous. If I were the owner of this establishment, I'd be ashamed to know what was served to us on Saturday. I would not recommend Prime 82.
