The best restaurants in Stevenage East of England

We popped in to get a couple of boxes of chow mien to have for tea. They were quickly provided and very nice when we got home to eat them. Assuming that they were still there next time, as we were the only customers we saw, we would go back again.

Got a breakfast deal of coffee and egg and bacon roll. Very disappointed. It was cold and as for the egg. Well on all my years have never seen an egg look like this. What annoyed me is the assistant seem looked at ut and thought it was acceptable to put it in my roll. Clearly dosent care about customer

Waited ages and the queue (which was out the door and almost into the car park) barely moved. Multiple customers were complaining. They only had one till to serve everyone. After waiting for about 15 minutes and only getting from the door to the counter (about 2 metres) I left (a customer said 'I don't blame you' as I walked past), went to M&S and got a nice drink and a pastry within minutes.

Very very very rubbish service. The man who served a customer he is fully disrespected. I don’t know what ego for him. He is not fit to work at all. Behaviour needs to be changed with customer. I don’t like him.

The cafe has recently been moved downstairs much to my annoyance as before there was a viewing platform where you could watch Stevenages finest roll in with their prams and shell suits with a near perfect line of vision this is no longer the case too many visual obstructions. The only positive of the new location is my wife and I were recently playing Super Mario cart on the Nintendo switch and there was an old lady in there that was a dead ringer for Koopa Troopa. Service is still good. Now you also have to travail a quagmire of uncontrolled kids screaming and running around whilst their parents stoclk up the trolley with 20 rustlers burgers and a load more E numbers to plough into their kids.

Went out with the wife in old town & decided to pop into the Drapers. Haven’t been here for a while but pub had a very nice welcoming feel to it. Very Christmassy too. Planned on having 1 drink, ended up taking advantage of their happy hour & got 2 pitchers. Very nice Shoutout to Megan, very nice & sweet

Can’t count the amount of times I’ve had incorrect orders from this McDonald’s. Every time we’ve been here, all we see are half the staff members standing around or all in one area. The fact it takes so many people to prepare a single order is poor in itself but to then have the wrong order is another level. Silly of me not to check my order before I left as I should know by now that it’s going to be the wrong one as it’s now happened so many times. Basically, don’t bother going here unless you want the surprise of getting someone else’s food.

After placing an order told to be delivered in a hour . 1hr 30mins later still not arrived spent another 26 mins trying to get through to them and finally do they hang then phone up agaon and 15 mins trying to get through and they havent even cooked it yet and when i tried to cancel the order the lady was so rude and thought it was funny that i waited so long . If u r not in a rush for food then this is defo the place for u.

The “manager” seemed to just be bullying other staff members , been in a few times to see her also outside having a smoke when it’s clearly busy, she has no respect for her staff and should be brought up on her constant misconduct.

Hmmm, not sure why people are reviewing the car park or the hospital waiting times. It's not like you would choose to stay at a hospital (!) I am reviewing the small cafe in the hospital foyer which is open during the day. They sell sandwiches, snacks and cold drinks. They also advertise that they sell Costa Coffee. I had been to the hospital and wanted to get some lunch as I had not had anything to eat so got a sandwich and a drink. Although it was busy staff were working hard to clear the queues which they managed. The seating area was clean and well presented even though it was busy.

Absolute waste of time. Arrived at the Stevenage Papa John's at 10.40pm, front door wide open but nobody at the sales counter. Called for service, no answer. Waited for 5 minutes, still no answer. Saw an employee in the kitchen, called again and knocked on the window. Completely ignored. Knocked again and he begrudgingly came to the sales counter. Told me that he wasn't taking anymore orders and was closing at 10:45hrs. The website clearly states 11:00pm. He clearly couldn't be bothered. Never again, I'll spend my money elsewhere.

I had to order over the phone as I am allergic to dairy and cannot add meat to a vegan pizza or customise a normal pizza to have vegan cheese. Not only did the lady on the phone mumble which made it difficult to understand but she came across as rude. I was not informed of the price before asking for my card details which I didn’t question as it usually comes to around £25-30 for 2 pizza with a deal which the person operating the phone adds on for us but this time it came to £52!! If I was able to order this online I could have got 2 pizza’s and 2 sides for £24.99. Please make the vegan base and cheese an options for customisation for those with allergens so we don’t have to pay double the amount for less!!

Food was 2 hours late the last time we ordered so we was offered 50% off the next time. Guess what 2 and half hours later and our food still hadn't arrived. We should have learnt the first time. If you're happy waiting 2 + hours then go for it as the food is nice.. if you get it. Although we was told it'll be 25 minutes more, it never turned up and we called them to say don't bother.

Great pub brilliant atmosphere locals very welcoming after reading previous reviews on racism I can assure you This is not the case many different cultures from young to old welcomed and treated equally even catering for children All in all a great place to go
