The best restaurants in Uttlesford East of England

Came across this lovely shop and tea room that also does lunches and afternoon tea. We decided to book a sunday lunch roast dinner and was impressed by the good portions and tasty presentation . The ambiance of the old barn is excellent with high ceilings and wooden beams . The staff were friendly and helpful and the bill at the end very reasonable . We will be back . One suggestion to the proprietors advertise as on receipt as your company is unique. I had to look at Henham village to find you !! And to others that name is The pig sty tea room !! Very novel !!! Give it a try you wont be disappointed

Had my wedding here, love this quaint hotel with its attentive lovely staff. It has a wonderful atmosphere with good food. A lovely old hotel with lots of character. Good parking and very clean and reasonable

Now Kings - food was cold on arrival, part of the order missing and refused to return call to resolve. Won’t be going back.

Fast service from counter. Had Greens and Grains Chicken Salad and baked fries. Very nice food at busy airport landside. Plenty of seating in shared area.

This I thought was going to be a separate small cafe off shoot. It turns out it's going to be the take away for Goat and Grads next door. I've been told to go next door for normal cafe surface.

Beautiful, really charming country pub. We had great food on the way from Stansted, a detour well worth taking. Loved the decor and atmosphere.

Absolutely fantastic! The kebabs here are bursting with flavor—perfectly grilled, juicy, and paired with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The sauces are incredible, especially the chili and yogurt ones, which elevate the meal to the next level. The staff is friendly, the shop is clean, and the service is quick. Prices are reasonable for the generous portions and top-notch quality. This is hands down one of the best kebab spots I’ve tried in Dunmow area. Highly recommend! Will try the pizza next!

We had a mid-week lunch at The Dog & Duck as a walking group of 13 people. This is a proper village pub, not a gastro pub. The menu is typical pub fare, done well. Examples include fish and chips, sausages and mash, or lasagne. The quality of the food was excellent and everybody enjoyed their lunches. Prices were reasonable and portions generous. They also do a very reasonably priced seniors menu. A few of the group had deserts and, apparently, the home-made deserts are not to be missed! The service was friendly and efficient. Several of our group remarked how good the pub was. We'll definitely visit again!

Pretty grim - coffee station dirty, tables littered with dirty plates and cups without being cleared for who knows how long. Coffee is mid

This is one of our favourite places to eat out as a family and as a couple. Always made to feel welcome and make a fuss over the kids. All the staff are friendly and the food always tastes amazing. Great atmosphere and service especially Sayed who always looks after us really well. Can’t wait to go back again soon.

Good option getting off the train at 10.30 to pick up supplies for a late supper. A good house biryani.

The place is good, staff ok. My meal was mixed up at least 3 times so that took a start off. The drinks were nice. Not much more to say. It’s just a restaurant.

Must try No.1 appetizers, they are mixture of popular asian food. The atmosphere and service is amazing. Thank you so much.
