The best restaurants in Waveney East of England

Visiting oulton broad by boat we found this little gem doing live music. Great pub, great views, great staff and great atmosphere!

Just relocated to Lowestoft - food was amazing and had a lovely chat with the delivery lady :) A+ (and never EVER stop doing the won tons - they were incredible!)

Always really tasty and freshly cooked food at good prices. The full range of kebabs, also pizzas and chicken and all the extras. Good size portions. The Mix kebab is a must-try. I haven't commented on atmosphere as it's a takeaway, but staff are very friendly and I'm always greeted with a smile. Will continue to be a regular.

I tried the food at a event for the first time tonight and it was absolutely delicious. I had the chicken strips meal box with bbq sauce and I enjoyed it so much. The food is so tasy and full of flavour. Looking forward to buying from you in the future 🙂

Friendly staff excellent menu as one of our party is a Coeliac so needs gluten free.

Good for the price point. Cheaper option on the seafront. Staff were friendly, we had donuts and ot drinks. Everything made fresh to order.

Eagerly awaited my Friday chip shop treat. This week I was indulging my Friday treat in Kirklee Run. The chippy had a huge fatheringmof customers which is always a great indication of things to come. Advertised in the window was their meal deals and for £3.85 I had chips, 2x sausage and curry sauce. Piping hot and tasty was my overriding thoughts. They accept card as well which is always a winner...

Excellent meal today when we visited as a party of 6 for my adult daughter’s birthday lunch . All our dishes were very tasty , beautifully presented ,hot and swiftly arrived together . The service from all the staff was professional and friendly . Thank you for accommodating 2 well behaved dogs and my daughter’s birthday cake ! We would recommend the sail loft and hope to return when in the area .

My wife and I ate lunch at the Jolly Sailors in late December - we only planned to have a small lunch there rather than a large meal, so we asked for the wrap menu (available Noon to 4pm) and we both ordered the sausage onion and cheese wrap, my wife having hers with salad and crisps (total £9) and I had the hand-cut chips instead of crisps (£2 extra). The food was really good, and very filling...to be honest we expected it to feel like a snack and we both left the pub feeling quite full. It was a really nice meal and decent value for what you got. Service was friendly and helpful, and the beer (Lacons Encore) was in good condition. Overall we had a lovely stop at the Jolly Sailors and no doubt we will be back in 2025.

Good place to visit if walking around Walberswick/Southwold. Beautiful setting with friendly service in a quirky old pub. Food was good if not slightly over priced however it is fairly standard for this area.

We attended the Festive Fun Lunch at The Wherry, the food was hot and there was lots to choose from. The staff were friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed ourselves, it felt like a proper Christmas party.

Sadly very disappointed. Ordered fish and chips. The fish was tasteless, the batter was hard and over-cooked, the chips were soggy and disappointing. Whilst the service was friendly it was inefficient. Disappointing because in the past this restaurant has been very good. Maybe they were having a bad day or maybe the management has changed.
