Best curry I've had in ages, and without doubt the best I've had in Suffolk - fresh, well presented, and quickly served. Highly recommend the naga chilli masala if you like a bit of heat - proper kick to it but without losing flavour.

We have not visited for several years and was given a gift voucher at Christmas. Very friendly and welcoming staff Lovely homely feel bar area. Cod Mornay with prawn and cheese sauce - delicious. Sausage and mash - delicious. Very enjoyable meal and highly recommend and we shall return!

Quiet location; comfortable and well-appointed rooms. Lovely breakfasts and nice dinners too.

This is hands down one of the best places for Chinese food (and fish and chips) in Lowestoft. The quality of the food, the attentive service, and the genuine friendliness of the staff consistently stand out. They clearly hold themselves to high standards, and it shows. It’s no surprise they get so busy! While I understand that no place is immune to the occasional “off night,” some of the negative reviews I’ve seen here simply don’t align with my experience. This is far from a bad takeaway—quite the opposite. As I mentioned earlier, they’re among the best in Lowestoft, and I can say that with complete confidence.

Fantastic food. Best I’ve had!!

Myself and my husband went into the Swan for lunch. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and so kind to us. We had our 2 week old twins with us and all the staff were so kind to come over and speak to us about them and accommodate us with the pram. We had the most amazing lunch and it was the first time we'd be out with the babies. The food was incredible and we laughed and smiled throughout the whole meal. I want to praise the staff at the Swan for making the experience so calm and wonderful. We can't wait to come back again.

Pancakes and porridge are a delight. Very dog friendly also.

The Pips fish and chips in Queens road are disgusting the chips are not cut and cooked to perfection and they get cold quick and the fish is watery boney and don't taste like fish not a fluffy fish it's slimy and watery not a good place to get food Avoid at all costs

I have just had the most wonderful meal for one of balti chicken with a tandoori chicken starter. Also included was a poppadom, small salad, side dish, and a canned drink. I added mint sauce and plain naan to my meal and have enjoyed an absolute feast with such generous portions there is plenty left for tomorrow. Thank you so much for such beautiful food . Have had fish n chips a few times from this place and they have been great but today’s was awful. I placed my order over the phone to be collected at 5.45pm. Got there on time and it was extremely busy and was told i had to join the back of the queue to give my name and wait for my order, even though i had ordered it in advance. Half an hour later i was served, then had a 10 min wait for my order. Fish was very dry and the batter was soft as it had obviously been hanging around for 1/2 hour whilst i had to queue up, What is the point of ordering in advance if you still have to wait as long as someone who has just walked in and the food was obviously ready at 5.45 but i didnt get it until 6.15. They need to review their process

I am writing this review having visited the restaurant on a Saturday night when you would expect it to be very busy. There was an initial wait to be seated of around about 45 minutes, this was more due to lack of staff rather than tables not being available. Once seated the two staff in the restaurant clearly couldn’t cope with the amount of table covers and again we waited a long time for the food order to be taken. Then there was a big wait between each course and for plates to be collected etc. it was clear to everyone that there needed to be more staff on shift (clearly we don’t know what had gone on here, maybe there was staff sickness or something unpredictable) but if this is normal, it simply means poor customer service. In my view the food was ok, the starters were a reasonable quality as was the duck course. The mains were small portions but you could order as much food as you wanted so this wasn’t really a problem. Only that it took a long time to make a reorder. What I would say is that the sweet and sour chicken dish could have had more sauce and the sauce was a little thin but this is me being picky really. Fairly good value. For me if they could just get the staffing right I would happily go back but I wouldn’t go again and put up with the wait and the lack of staff experienced on my first visit as it has put me off in truth.
