The best restaurants in Welwyn Hatfield East of England

We've used this pub as a ramble lunch stop a few times, as well as this one. Staff helpful when I made the booking - and on our arrival, nearly an hour early! This was because we'd come by train to Potters Bar, intending to go on to Brookmans Park by rail replacement bus. However the bus was delayed so we decided to start the walk at Potters Bar instead - meaning a shorter morning walk. Very well looked after by the friendly staff and we all enjoyed the delicious food.

Very impressed by service of Sonal and her colleagues The food and coffees were above expectation and exceptional for a bank holiday. Had checked in on Starbucks and the choices not to our taste so this was even more of a treat. Highly recommend. December 2024 have visited a couple of times when in Welwyn. Quality very good and the range of choices even better. Good food and coffee with lovely staff. Highly recommend

This restaurant has been going now for well over 35 years and in my opinion it has struggled at times with certain problems, like leaks from upstairs, changing owners BUT it still continues to serve fabulous yummy food. I always have the same dish and it is always spot on. WELL DONE BIPASH, May you continue to serve Welwyn garden city for another 35 years

Very quiet when we visited, so service was quick. Food was ok, hot, and very good value. Sadly, though, the chips were very salty. This branch always has friendly staff.

Food was terrible did not have a decent menu since changed from beefeater 3 couples got up and left without ordering after reading the menu, no chicken left so burger, pasta or pizza on the meal deal as we had already paid for it and had travelled 500 miles so just wanted something to eat

The chippy I go to was closed on Saturday for some reason so for convenience I went here for a portion of chips. When I got home and unwrapped the chips I was really shocked at the really stingy portion on my plate, was barely a handful and alot of it was scrappy bits. At £3.50 I think this is a complete rip off plus the chips were not fresh and dry. Considering the time I went in just after 5pm they should have been just cooked but were stale. I did actually get some chips from this place a few years ago and the chips were exactly the same. Lesson learned twice, I will definitely not be returning to this chippy. Very disappointing. £3.50 is steep for a portion of chips as it is these days. I wouldn't mind if they were decent and there was enough of them

Delivery was late 20min. Burgers were wrapped in aluminum foil so they were delicious but only warm. Chips were unfortunately already cold. Im sorry because i like this restaurant and I have never had any comments before

Amazing cafe, the coffee was delicious, the warm ambience from staff, make this quirky cafe worth returning to. Thank you Brigi and Jamie for such wonderful service. Keep up the superb work ladies☕️🍽️🍵

Favourite place for a coffee, partly because of it's sunny position. Always busy with a nice atmosphere. Veggie sandwich options bit limited.

Stopped by as I was passing as I loved the look from the outside. It was better inside. Lovely traditional pub with friendly staff, she even lit the log burner for me.

Had a lovely Sunday brunch with a friend. Food and drinks were tasty, and it was nice to be somewhere warm and inviting where we weren’t rushed.

A small portion of kebab with very little meat, practically just lettuce. One of the two portions of meat was cold. Fresh vegetables are a plus. The meat is tasty, but the quantity is very small for a large portion. Service charge 2.50£ and delivery another 2.50£😳 👎👎👎
