The best restaurants in St James's City of London, Westminster London

One of the OG bakeries I always visit when I'm in Chinatown to buy Char Siu bao, they are generous with their filling in their baos which is why I come here. Even though the inside is a bit small, they have plenty of pastries to choose from, occasionally I also get a coconut Cocktail bun if I want to change it up a bit. If you're not planning to buy a lot of things then make sure you have cash with you when it's under £10.

The food is incredible, the quantities are good, the shared plate is perfect for meals for 2, the servers are very friendly and the atmosphere is great. The cider is really good, the taste of the apple comes through a lot which leaves a pleasant taste in the mouth.

It's a sports bar first. So expect it to be loud. Nice pint and well trained staff. Lots of room but can get busy

Had a lovely meal here, service was superb and food was lovely. Quiet Saturday night but that was quite welcome. I thought reasonably priced compared to other central London locations that would pull your pants down

Very rude baristas. Unwelcoming service. When asked for milk basically slammed it on the counter and didn’t speak to us when we said “thank you” like 4 times. The guy barista is walking with a cigarette behind his ear and smokes infront of the entrance. Coffee and pastries are ok, although there were several flies flying around the pies and cookies.

Stopped in for a cocktail (or three!) on Saturday after shopping. Fabulous staff & service - highly recommended!

Whilst this is at the expensive end of dining and popular with certain people. It remains true to its classic heritage and delivers beautiful food with effortless service and the right amount of theatre. Terrific atmosphere, widely spaced tables, talented pianist, I would go back for a special occasion.

I have been visiting Thai Pot for 25 years. It has remained a great place for a good quality meal, served very fast, for a very reasonable price. I will keep coming back.

The Wine Bar is our very special place when in London. There is always a warm welcome, excellent "bubbly", and delicious nibbles.

Great food in a great venue. The staff were very friendly, and the food was delicious. We had a table by the window with a great view. Although tasty, I do agree with other reviews that it is very expensive for what you get. The food isn’t anything special. You are paying for the venue.

Food average, service average. Music far too loud for a smart restaurant. It’s like a disco not a classy place to have dinner with friends. Very very disappointing
