Our stay at the Artotel Hoxton was one for the books. From the moment we checked in, we felt very welcomed and taken care of. We arrived prior to check in time and Shaun went out of his way to try to get us a room before 3 pm. He also tried to get rooms close together as we were 2 families traveling together and checked in to make sure we had everything necessary to make our stay comfortable. He was able to get us into a room by 1:30 on the 20th floor with a view of the city. Thank you Shaun! The rest of the team was also great, from the room service attendant, to doorman in the front and the ladies at the bar. We really felt the hospitality and warmth especially during this hectic holiday season. We would definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity. The location was great, with accessibility to stores and transportation and a bit of more calmness away from the busyness of central London. We are very happy with our trip and cannot wait to come back again.

super friendly and easygoing place, they managed to squeeze me in as a solo walk-in on a busy Friday, and the service was great from start to finish. Everything i ate was delicious, and i wish i could have sampled more of the menu. Interesting and concise wine list, and plenty to cater to all tastes and requirements. Good sized portions for a “small plates” style menu too. Will definitely be back to try more!

A hidden gem...! We visited Colombia Rd market and needed a place out of the rain.. ...stumbled on this small cafe / restaurant and had a great experience. The staff made us instantly feel welcome despite it being very busy. We had an excellent breakfast (menamem with sausage and then a veggie breakfast). More toast was offered for free and there was just a 100% good vibe. ...bonus points for it serving alcohol early in the morning for those that want to be indulgent. It's a bit more expensive than an average cafe but the quality of the ingredients is obvious from the moment a big plate of food gets put I front of you.. ...I eat breakfast out all the time, and this is a cafe that is completely 👌

A big group of 13 people for a Monday night, this restaurant did not disappoint. They went above and beyond for our group. The table were predominantly meat eaters, we had 2 veggies, and our lovely server went next door to get chips for them as the chips on site are cooked in beef fat. Everyone was so polite and we all had a fabulous time, thank you so so much

Terrible service! We made a booking for New Year's Eve for 10 people, got confirmation via email that it was all fine. When we turned up the restaurant was closed!! Ruined our plan for New Year's Eve, for that big group nowhere else had space for us! That is disgusting service and I would not trust anything offered by this place.

Really lovely coffee/pastries and the guy who served me was nice to chat to and had good customer service. It also is a cute little space. I actually hate writing negative reviews but I had a bit of an uncomfortable experience towards the end. I read online before I went that the cafe was a laptop friendly cafe and when I went there at 10 there was a little sign that says no laptops after 11am, I inquired and the guy serving me said that if it’s quiet then it would be fine for a little over 11, at around 11:20. I asked again if they would like me to close my laptop and the girl working there said I should be fine until 11:45. Shortly afterwards, this girl began to discuss with the guy why hybrid workspaces in cafes should be eroded, some stuff about using cafe WiFi and why libraries and we work spaces aren’t being utilised how they should be. For context, I was the only person in the cafe and I was working from my laptop (using my own network) and the conversation was a very open conversation for me to hear. I ordered another drink to drink inside before this conversation, they then had this conversation and made the drink after it had ended. When they remembered the drink I asked to now get the drink to go and thanked them for their flexibility with my laptop. The girl said that the conversation wasn’t aimed at me. I think fair enough, everyone is entitled to have these discussions but maybe not in front of the one customer that is on their laptop in the cafe. I completely support cafes that choose not to be hybrid workspaces but that should be communicated. I actually never work from home usually as I’m a nurse but the one day I did and went to a cafe for the morning as a little treat, I left very soon after that conversation had taken place as it was clear that I wasn’t welcome in that space.

The yellow warbler is an absolute 10/10. The coffee is delicious and the sausage rolls are incredible. I always look forward to stopping in on my way to Abney park with my dog. The people that work there are also just so lovely. It’s a delightful spot and I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal here. Highly recommend.
