The best restaurants in Merton London

AVOID THIS PLACE. THE OWNER IS A HORRIBLE MAN AND HOS WIFE CANT COOK. He went from telling us a pity story about how people come in causing trouble, to turning on us saying we were the worst people ever, shouting at us being very aggressive. Alongside this, his wife cooks the food and its flavourless.

It was a hot day and we decided to pop in and get some icecrea, before we headed to a show at the theatre close by. The ice cream was tasty and they had a decent amount of flavour options.

While it is a bit more expensive than other places we always eat here when in London. My family had the Sunday roast which was very good and not too expensive and I had the beautiful afternoon tea. It was lovely and a great experience.

Was looked after in there, staff was happy ta accommodate with our needs or requests also wen it come ta setting up the event equipment. Will definitely be back.

Decent chips and a good sized portion (large would easily feed 3), however oily undercooked batter and cod that tasted of nothing. When it was run by Asian owners, it was delicious however has sadly gone downhill since a change of ownership. Shame

Deliciosa. Un negocio familiar realmente encantador. El personal era servicial y amable y la comida era fresca y llena de sabor. Me ajustaron un plato para que no fuera demasiado picante sin ningún problema. También es un restaurante de bebidas alcohólicas que es ideal para mantener los costos bajos. Excelente comida, excelente servicio, sin duda volveremos.

New Bulgarian has replaced Sanjunana. Food is superb. Looks like this one is going to be successful.

Visitamos Lupo Bros en abril para el cumpleaños de mi sobrino. Lo elegimos por su noche de pizza, que ofrecía buena relación calidad-precio y significaba que podíamos cenar temprano con niños pequeños. El menú de pizza es simple, pero hay algo para todos. Pedimos varios diferentes para compartir y cayeron bien con los niños y adultos. El personal era servicial y amable, y mi sobrino disfrutó de pasar su cumpleaños aquí con sus primos.

Since when were samosa and nachos considered French or even European FFS!!! this place is a charade and not worth wasting money on!

Gran lugar. 2 4 1 cócteles hasta las 8 pm. La primera vez de mis amigos. Me encantó. Gran personal Sentado junto a un hermoso fuego abierto.

I have visited this cafe several times and am never disappointed, it's a walk from Wimbledon but worth it to get away from the chain cafes in the centre. The food is clearly freshly cooked to order and you sometimes have to wait if it's busy, so make sure you're not in a rush if you go at a busy time. I love food and I'm a vegetarian, the options for us veggies are well thought out and tasty, unlike other places where veggie food is simply a second thought. I do think that it would enhance service if bills were prepared before I get to the till to pay as this can be a bit hit and miss. But that is probably being a bit pedantic on my part.

** Last-Minute Letdown - didn’t honor booking** I had a reservation for two at Casa Argentina to celebrate a friend's birthday. Despite confirming my booking through email and receiving a reminder, they canceled it unexpectedly by phone less than 30 minutes before my arrival! When I asked them why, it transpired it was due to a walk-in. It's disappointing when a restaurant can't honor a reservation, especially within short notice and on a busy and rainy Friday night. Won't be returning and wanted to share to save others from a similar experience.

Así que pensé que este café sería encantador para un café de bienvenida. Café era genial. Sin embargo La señora de cabello oscuro que servía caminaba por ahí sacando comida del mostrador y comiendo. Comer sobre la comida en el mostrador en exhibición. Tomar varias piezas de comida y caminar por ahí comiendo. Dedos en la boca y luego reordenar el pan en el gabinete. No es higiénico en absoluto. Caminando hacia arriba y hacia abajo detrás del mostrador recogiendo varias cosas de comida y empujándole en la boca. Asqueroso. Un cliente le preguntó si se había lavado las manos. No lo hizo. Aparte de esto. Amistoso, pero no volveremos.

Excellent food and great service with a smile. We had Lamb donor, chicken sheesh, kofte, fish and chips. Large order at a busy time and they coped magnificently. All the orders were spot on and will always go back for more. Great portions too.
