Based on some great reviews on Google we decided to give this place a go after a long day out. This was one of the worst foodie choices I have ever made. If you can't get the taste of a chicken tikka masala right then there must be something wrong. I could have rung the bag out which contained my onion bhaji and cooked about another 30 of them with the oil it contained. The chicken masala was literally swimming in oil also. We won't be eating here again that's for sure. By the way. Why are trip advisor letting the owner or chef of the business post constant 5 star reviews? Shabul K? Really. Thanks to the last reviewer who pointed this out.

Wow! Hey, is this a cafe you should visit. Yes, of course you should. For once a comfortable, delightful, friendly cafe. Where time is on your side. I was passing by, and the rain said, "Stop here and dry out for a while." Relax, take it easy, no hurry, drink a coffee, and soak up the atmosphere.

Table service is extremely slow. The man waiter (to describe him accurately, he is the man who is on the heavier side of the weighing scale, with a beard and wears glasses) is rude. The said waiter initially said food will be served in 30 minutes. At the 45 minute mark, food was still not there. When i told him that I will only be paying for coffee because I had to leave, he literally said “I told you so that it will take 30 minutes.” I told him that its been 45 minutes since I ordered and he just said “Well, thats how it is.” Food is actually good. Very bad customer service. If you are happy to wait for about an hour for your food, by all means.

My 1st time trying food at the Original Caribbean spice and boy was I EXTREMELY disappointed. Mind you I travelled from London Bridge in search of some soul food - Caribbean food. I mentioned this to the owner that served me too. I bought portion of chicken stew meal and portion of oxtail meal. There was plenty of rice and peas and that was the best part of the meal, but it had no gravy to go with it - just dry meat and no sauce. It was cold so clearly not freshly made today! The only part of my quiet large order were x2 slices of the most amazing fruit cake, besides the cake slices, in short I wasted my money and that is so upsetting and I regret my decision to go over from the opposite side Kaieteur Kitchen Original. You expect to get your money's worth - food that is edible and of good quality! Kaieteur Kitchen Original - on the opposite side of the Original Caribbean spice still on castle square 1st floor, I had bought the most amazing curry mutton, with Roti and beautiful side of spinach. Had it not been for that meal I bought prior to stopping by the Original Caribbean spice- it would have be much worse of a day than it turned out. I am still wishing so many hours later, that I had spent that £31 ( £7+ for cakes) at the Guyanese place called Kaieteur Kitchen Original. That was the tastiest and most delicious caribbean food Ive had in a long time and it comes with plenty gravy that is beautifully seasoned and meat falling of the bone cooked to perfection. The owner of Kaieteur Kitchen Original greeted me as I entered with such warmth and so friendly. She introduced herself and showed me the menu, asked about dietary needs/preferences then helped me decide on meal which I wish I had bought more dishes from this place and saved myself the anger/regret of getting food not worth the money I was charged at Original Caribbean spice. Anyway we live and learn. Original Caribbean spice is not the kind of place I would even mention to anyone - and I am the type to brag about amazing food that I've experienced and enjoyed. Sadly not this place and I will not be going back here ever again. From an extremely disappointed customer.
