The best restaurants in Middlesbrough North East

After swearing not to eat here again I ended up doing so the other day as my university friends insisted the food was nice. I should have trusted my gut after the last time I was there and received a bland dry veggie burger with no salad or sauce. They ordered a full English and the bacon was undercooked, they said their sausages were poor quality and the ‘toast’ was basically warm bread. One friend ordered a cappuccino which was lumpy and undrinkable. I ordered a tuna panini which was actually a disgusting tuna baguette which the baguette was soggy and warm not even crispy and it was covered in a thick layer of cheap minging cheese. The only good side was my pint was a good pour. Safe to say I’m 100% not wasting my money they on food again and I doubt my friends will either

Most of food was cold and the chicken wrap was appalling, definitely not worth £6. Will absolutely not be ordering from here again and would not recommend to anyone.

Food was fine and hot but pricey for what u get.plenty of choice on menu. Nice to try here for a change as from my usual takeaway

Order took ages to come and only ordered little meal.

Was visiting Middlesbrough that day and waiting for a friend. decided to go to Milligans to buy a hot drink to pass time. I ordered a drink and the granny served me. I ask why was the price different and she said i was sitting in to drink. This was fine but she looked at other customers when she replied back thinking i am stupid or something. I find her customer service skills lacking even for an experienced old staff and would have been forgiving if she was a trainee. Before she bought the drink to the table she shouted who ordered 'hot tea', at the time there was only 3 customers sitting in the cafe which shows either she does not care or she is showing signs of senile forgetfulness. Anyway at the end of the day this would be the last time I would enter this rundown cafe and definitely would not accept this poor attitude towards customers. A mentally challenging staff that has passed her expiry date to work in the F&B industry.

Visited on Saturday 14th September and what a blast we all had. The bar staff had mint banter. Tony the DJ was fantastic from the minute we walked in until the minute we left. The bar lad I think his name was Tom recommended the black cherry kraken and wow what a drink. He recommended I also visit legends during the week so that’s on the to do list! Keep up the great work lads

Not bad for cocktails. Used to stop by for one or two. Crowd are a bit lame. Or at least they have when I've been in.

Don't know were to star food atrocious. Bland , boring flavourless, waste of hard earner money. But staff are nice so 1 bonus.

There was No adblu at the pump for HGV today so after much messing about with pumps and muffled advice over the intercom, I gave up. So a bit of a faff having to use containers to fill. I think that Staff should be on top of the fuel side of things at the very least as it's a fuel station, yet when I went in, they were too busy sorting the sweet shelf to notice! The garage does have a good selection of food stuffs and supplies, it's also combined with a subway, so snacks a plenty. It also has a cash machine. Also shares the site with MacDonalds so although it's not great for trucks to stop as there's little to no parking, cars and vans can expect a great service. Just keep an eye on the fuel! It's what most customers are there for.

The landlady and her partner thinks it's okay to go to other establishments and be rude to staff and leave dirty nappies on tables.

Food was freezing cold and dry

The rooms although spacious at least this one was I can not give a review better than 2 star based on the quality of fixings were loose and the beds need a drastic replacement the mattresses were almost to the point that when you sat on them your body would meet the base board its rather noisy and that’s due to main road the hotel is on the staff were polite but does need a big upgrade for the cost of the said room

If you want to speak to a rude person that will tell you off for ordering too much. Then this is the place to go. Said it would be 45 minutes even tho on the order it said 25 minutes. It’s now at least an hour because there is only one of them. I have ordered this amount before and not had an issue. Just put an order in that could pay there wages at least you would think they would give better service and not give so much rudeness on the phone about querying your orders where abouts!!! And then hangs up on you. 10/10 if you want to feel embarrassed about wanting to know where your food is.

Honestly best Chinese I’ve had in Teeside wow duck was amazing and the noodles

From past two visits the chicken wasn’t really cooked well enough, even though after letting them know about the issue but I don’t really think they bother, won’t be ordering from here anymore.
