The best restaurants in Washington North Sunderland North East

After an atrocious meal June2023q and avoiding it throughout 2 further holidays After being put off. We read more mixed reviews and decided to give it a try again we have so many happy memories in this pub. What a difference. Happy welcoming staff, clean and best of all probably the best steak and ale pie I have had for a long time. Packed full of meat very good gravy. Well presented delicious. Looking around at what others were having it seems popular again. Great job

5 stars alone for the kebab meat. You just don't get it like this anymore. Thick cut and lamb. So many places would rather cheap out but hot bite never disappoint

Pre ordered food as there was 8 of us although a couple of people joined on last minute and they still got all our food served together and on time! Food was scrummy. Staff friendly. Welcoming atmosphere and real fires burning. Lovely feel

Ordered a takeaway, 2 rogan josh, £11.93 each. It arrived and it was chicken and not very nice chicken at that. If you type into Google rogan josh it says its usually lamb or mutton. I've never had a chicken rogan josh in my life. Rang the takeaway and the manager wasn't interested. I also ordered poppadoms which didn't arrive. Again the manager wasn't interested because we had ordered from deliveroo. Spent nearly £50 on a takeaway for 2 and most of it went in the bin. Absolutely abysmal

Much better than donwell chippy "our local" The kebabs are spot on the owner isnt a Pakistani with cheap tatties and poor old cooking oil...click gets our vote.

Food was really lovely the only thing that let it down was that one of the naan breads was burnt.

I phoned the takeaway to complain about the standard of my meal before I would complain. My beef satay had never seen a peanut and my large spring rolls with meat were small and vegetable based, no meat involved. No compensation offered so I write this review. Avoid you must.

Great food as usual from Lucky House!

Chips were dark brown and tasted burnt. went in bin. After leaving a note to ensure this was not the case after past similar experience. They took no notice of the note.

Very friendly and always enjoyed the food

Delivered on time and food was delicious 👍🏻
