Meh, so slooooooow. After hearing about the hype, I was really disappointed. The menu was, in my opinion, limited. Our first choice of main was sold out, at 7:30pm, hardly late for a Saturday evening. The suggested alternative a seafood risotto took approximately 45 mins and when it came it was saltier than the Dead Sea. The waiting staff were lovely, but too few and rushed off their feet.

Staff were friendly inviting and accommodating. Pub itself is very nice and nicely decorated. Very warm (which was lovely as we'd been on a snowy walk before heading there!) we were late and rang ahead and they were very accommodating by saving our table. We did arrive to realise we weren't all seated together but apparently that was mentioned on the booking email. We were a larger group of 8 people and 2 kids so again I understand but if booking, remember to read your email and call ahead of this is a problem. We had to order ahead of time when we booked the table which I thought was a bit weird but with it being a Saturday I understood. The only vegan dessert on the menu was unavailable. In fact, a few things were unavailable on the menu that day. Price was also reasonable and food was very tasty. Good portions, can't fault the staff themselves as it was a very busy Saturday and they were all lovely. All in all I'd come back, maybe in a smaller group and maybe when I'm not doing veganuary 😅

I have been visiting the Coffee Tavern for many years and it never fails to please. Great menu, super food whether it’s lunch or dropped scones. Great to sit outside in the summer months and cosy up by the log burner in the winter. Perfect after a good local walk.

Called in here to grab a bite to eat for 2 adults and 2 kids on Saturday afternoon, there weren't any tables available inside or we would have eaten in. Usually I'm not a fan of greggs pasties dropping bits of flaky pastry down your front so had pizza instead and it was tasty. Most greggs shops in Stockport aren't very appealing but this one was better.

After a recommendation we gave it a go. Food was lovely, really fresh ingredients, service was good and they have a 5/5 food hygiene rating. We probably won’t go anywhere else if ordering a Chinese takeaway.

Pilkingtons is just brilliant. All the girls have a big smile and a warm welcome for everyone and they never stop. The sandwiches are made to order, always fresh and packed with filling, my dad wont have anything else. The cakes and pastries look and taste fab. I hope Pilkingtons will always be around for future generations to enjoy.

We moved to Poynton 12 months ago and decided for the first time to try Panda Panda Chinese takeaway. It is the worst we have ever tried for Chinese food. Starters of vegetable spring rolls...very, very little vegetables inside the pastry. Very bland. The side of sweet and sour sauce was a glupy bowl of orange jam. Nothing else in the pot. No pineapple or onion. Awful. I ordered szechuan fillet steak. The steak was tough and rubbery. The sauce was another version of sweet and sour sauce, with added vegetables. We couldn't completely finish any of the food. It tasted like nothing we have ever eaten before. And we intend never to again.

Great pub with a deserved reputation. Loved the lamb. Afogato is excellent. Great wine and a lovely half of landlord. Staff were great and couldn't have been more attentive. It's in the middle of nowhere but obviously that's part of the charm.
