Great foods, excellent service. Came for a family gethring and everyone enjoyed their meals. The new renovated shop is clean and bright.

No food these days, but good selection of bar snacks including XL Cheese and the pints of Loweswater Gold are perfect, Usually another real ale is available. Service excellent. Nice crowd, like when I last drank in here in 2010. Prices very reasonable. Will drink & bar snack here again.

Always a great atmosphere in the shipwrights, so friendly any time we go in, great bar service, Couldn't ask for anything better, 100% plus.

Popped in after a walk around the local waterfall and forest. Pleased to find they were open on a midwinter afternoon and had space for lunch. Excellent service and really tasty lunches

A small cozy cabin filled with friendly hospitable staff. The food portions are huge, if you order the chicken burger order one burger for two people if you order the gammon order one and share it. It really made us stay in the Peak District a delight on our first night.

Some of the best food in West Cumbria. Good pint in there too. Must try place if you are in the area or passing, even worth travelling to.

Delicious food and great price for the quantity and quality. The staff are all lovely and friendly as well every time I have visited.

Went for a boxing day walk and stopped for a bite to eat, this is a lovely coffee shop that also has a bar! Food is delicious and so fresh! Plenty of space to sit, love the barrels with seating around them the character of this place is perfect, and looking out over the harbour whilst it is slightly raining is a lovely vantage point!! We were visiting relatives but next time we are up we will be going back here again, it's also a dog friendly place which is a nice touch as they need to rest too haha, if mobility is an issue they have tables outside, I think they would nice things about to get a wheelchair in but tables and comfy seats are scattered around, live stop if you fancied watching the world pass you by with a latte or a gin, yep I did both obviously for research purposes 🫣
