The best restaurants in Shaw Oldham North West

Came here this evening. Probably about 10 ish tables in so not mega busy, told on arrival they were out of approximately 40% of the main menu as the chef who ordered the food in had left and not put an order in( for a pub that’s just reopened its doors after previous mismanagement this is not what you want to hear). Was seated quickly , waited about 5 minutes before food and drink orders taken. We only had main meals , ordered a burger with an extra patty. Waited about 15 minutes for drinks to arrive to find the coke was flat. Asked waitress and she changed. Still flat. Didn’t say anything as it clearly wasn’t changing anything. After another 20 minutes I could see other tables who ordered their mains after us got theirs before us. Then a waitress came out and said that there was only 1 patty left and did I want halloumi instead. I begrudgingly agreed. Waited a further 20 minutes for our food to be presumably cooked from then and the burgers came out with patties that looked like they were frozen. The meat was almost rubbery like you’d get from a dodgy takeaway. Usually I wouldn’t mind this after a few pints but with the extras the burger cost 16 quid. Chips, were Luke warm at best and there was about 6. No coleslaw as pictured on Facebook. 2 other party members ordered the steak and ale pie and their meat was tough and chewy. Asked for sauces as not to make a scene and make the best out of a bad situation. 10 minutes later they arrived. All in all poor. Will not be returning even if the ownership changes. After the previous management I didn’t think it could get worse. Boy was I wrong. Also. The pictures I have provided 1 is taken from their Facebook and the other I took of my poor effort of a meal . We love it! Foods always fresh and perfectly cooked. Very homely pub always warm clean and welcoming. And beautiful big beer garden which is a sun trap. One of our faves locally.

Cheap n clean and good service for spoons. Our local so cant knock it

A Love yfc but the last chicken burger meal I got off the bold ed guy made me ill was bit pink fort it be write then in bed for a day dying put me off for a bit but no doubt I will be back ha it is very good normally!

Everything good but the Donner meat was a bit bland

The food was good and as I asked for orthentic. I had prior to ordering explained that I am a seasoned curry eater and I preffer my curry Pakistan style which very spicy and orthentic which was exactly what I got. The food was exceptional and the front of house staff who was the son of the owner was very polite and helpful. The only downside to my visit was the Lager option which was the Tiger. I found it expensive and flat but that won't put me off I will be back for food soon. I would give it a 8 / 10

The staff here are brilliant, especially Leah she is a lovely person and a credit to this establishment. Food is not bad.

Friendly locals, pleasant atmosphere, decent pint. Not a bad place.

We were here for take away just now, attended by a friendly and attentive lady, guess she is a lady boss :) She reconmended us to try Chicken Fried Rice, Special Wet Noodles, Hot and Sour Soup, Salt and Pepper Ribs as well as the Wor Tip, is really yumm.. :))🤤 Definitely will come back again.. 😍

It was quiet the at the time I went so difficult to comment on atmosphere of the place - it is primarily a take-out. Food and service lived up to positive reviews. Definitely recommend.

We visited the pub last night after going to Manchester. The pub was very busy however it was filthy dirty, glasses and empty plates everywhere on tables on the bar. The ladies toilets were disgusting, very dirty I wouldn’t use them. Staff were very miserable and some doing more than others. One male member of staff kept going into the kitchen and coming out eating pizza and other things, standing at the end of the bar. Very unprofessional. Litter on the floor, tables not cleaned, empty glasses all over. Very unpleasant visit and I will not be going again. Let’s JD Wetherspoon’s down.

Quality food! The cod was done perfectly. Portion sizes are very food. Definitely order from here again.

It’s been 2 months since this happened And I am still so worked up about it, It’s made me so nervous when eating out with my son and has gave me awful anxiety.. Two months ago I was given what I was told a vegan pasty My son who has allergies ate half of the pasty before he started to have a severe allergic reaction where I had to drive him to a&e as fast as I could because he was screaming in pain. When I visited the store the next day I confronted the women who served me who went on to say she thought vegan And vegetarian were the same Thing and she didn’t realise how serious allergies were. WHEN ARE ALLERGIES GOING TO BE TOOK SERIOUSLY RETRAIN YOUR STAFF!!!! It’s a matter of life and death and you have careless people working with food. Absolutely shocking. MORE AWARENESS MORE NEEDS TO HAPPEN!!!!
