When I first visited here a few years ago I gave a 5star review but yesterdays hotpot wasnt very good. Oh sure the meat was as tender as before but the rest of the hotpot was nothing special. The green beens were undercooked and hard. The prices have increased too. Been here about 7 times now but I think its time I tried somewhere else for better or worse!

Amazing experience from start to finish. From the pianist playing whilst we ate, the food, drink and service. We have the roast dinner and was beautiful the waiter was so attentive and cared for our every need! Exceptional service. The ambiance was just second to none. Grace, the manager was so professional and really cares about customer satisfaction she goes way above and beyond to make sure her customers are happy and it shines through.

We started December in style with a fantastic Festive Afternoon Tea at The Grand Southport. The food was sensational, hand made by Callum King and his team. Because everything is freshly baked and prepared, they need at least 24 hours notice for bookings. You can see why; there’s an extraordinary level of detail in each individual item. What a wonderful way to eat with family, friends or loved ones. Take your time as you delve into a treasure trove of treats; it’s a tough choice to work out where to start first! The hand made fruit scones were superb, served with pots of Cornish clotted cream and Hawkshead strawberry preserve (we’ll let you decide which one should go on first…) There is a range of tastes and textures with the savoury items, which include: roast turkey with cranberry sauce; devilled egg mayonnaise and chives; cured salmon, caper berry and watercress tarts; cream cheese, mint and cucumber sandwiches; cranberry and orange sausage rolls; and parsnip soup. Real festive flavours and some big crowd pleasers. Make sure you leave room, because desserts are coming, and you won’t want to miss these. They include: lemon and blueberry posset; chocolate and pistachio delice; lemon and poppy seed cake; almond slice; and mince pie. Warming pots of tea are a great addition, or you can upgrade to mulled wine or Champagne. It’s all enjoyed in the beautiful setting of The Grand on Lord Street, a stunning 101 year old art deco landmark building which takes you back to the glamour of the roaring 1920s after the venue’s £5 million transformation. Festive Afternoon Tea is an elegant, indulgent, delicious way to enjoy the Christmas season in a unique dining experience.

We have celebrated many birthdays at Thai Rice [ a few of them with 0 on the end!] This was a 70th and my tempura veg was crispy and sweet followed by a smooth green curry with fluffy rice all served with friendliness and style . One of the aspects we love about Thai Rice is the food is always good and often excellent so you can rely on super cuisine every time. Thanks for a lovely birthday lunch ! What puzzles us is that the restaurant wasn't packed . You should have to fight for places the food is so good !

Went to Azul monkey with friends for brunch which included a singer she was very professional and had a good range of songs that entertained us and got us up dancing. The food was a selected menu for the brunch but there was something everyone wanted in my group. We had drinks included for 90 mins also and staff were quick to refill are drinks they were polite and a credit to the the Azul family team

There was 3 of us and each order of drinks were different. Bar service was awful so slow. There was a girl playing a guitar and singing well if you could call it that it was atrocious so out of tune. We were glad when she packed up and left. Definitely won't be going here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone either.
