Ordered last night (NYE) and in full honesty - it took 2 hours to get here hence the 4 stars. I’m not naive to think that NYE wouldn’t be busy though but not sure we were expecting 2 hours. However - restaurant was able to accommodate a paneer curry for me despite it not being on the menu. Food came hot. Big chunks of paneer and lamb in the bhuna. Good size portions and everything arrived as ordered. Would come again but not on NYE

Attended last night to celebrate my mother's 81st birthday. We were a party of 4. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We were made to feel welcome by a lovely man named Paul. He made sure we were happy with everything. We had an assortment of starters(great tasting food). We were then given time to digest before being asked if we would like our main course. We all had different main courses which again were piping hot and great tasting!! All in all a lovely evening! Thanks Mrs B Metcalf

Visited this venue twice recently The warmest welcome on a cold night. Beer was spot on and great price. We didn't eat on this occasion, but all looked good coming out of the kitchen. 2nd visit was to the Monday night Open Mic. Cracking night with some brilliant local talent. Well Done all at The Gables

Ordered 2 pizza's and 2 chips for collection at 6.15pm. Absolute chaos and so unorganised. Unhappy customers were being given cold food. We waited almost an hour for 2 pizza's and left without the chips which btw seem expensive at £4 per portion. We were repeatedly told the chips would only be a couple of minutes by the young dark haired lady at the front but they never arrived. It was our first visit and will definitely be our last.

We've eaten here for years but after the most recent visit we won't be back. Firstly, what we ordered should've cost around £12.70 according to their menu in the shop, but they charged us £19? Woman and lad working there were far too aggressive when I mentioned this. Secondly the food was awful, chicken balls had undercooked batter and the chicken itself was tough and leathery. The fried rice was chewy, like it had been left on the side for a few hours. Mushrooms were beyond salty. Ended up throwing most of it away, the only edible thing was the curry sauce. Such a shame as it's always been really good before now but after this visit we'll be finding a new Chinese.
