Absolutely disgusting treatment by the managers at House of Fraser. After wearing an expensive new coat for the first time I noticed a manufacturing fault that was very easy to miss when I purchased it in store. I had taken the label off but still kept it in the bag along with the receipt and they refused to accept it as a return (was asking for store credit instead of cash refund). They were essentially accusing me of damaging the coat myself and then trying to return it which absolutely did not happen. They've now lost a customer for life so I hope that was worth it.

Zest is located in a former Little Chef building on the East Lancs road so is really easy to find. It’s not a very cosy place and can feel a bit like a goldfish bowl however it’s still a great place to eat and can cater for both big groups and couples at the same time. The food isn’t going to win awards but is still good, the lamb is excellent. Portions are generous, but excess can be taken home. The staff are great, they look after you very well but don’t mither you. It’s also very good value, I’ve never felt ripped off. It’s not suitable for a “special” meal but is certainly an excellent go-to place.

We were introduced to Dam house by a friend a few months ago and we love coming here. We had breakfast and dinner previously but today we came for Sunday dinner which is £15 for main and dessert. Not only just excellent value, the food was excellent and home made. Better than a lot of pubs also. They also offer wine and beer. Our new favourite place and it’s a lovely building too. Cannot recommend enough!

Firstly the service we received was great but this is not a restaurant. It is a club/bar that serves food! It markets itself as a restaurant, which is very misleading, but even when you ask staff what type of establishment they would class it as, they say more of a bar. With that in mind. The food is OK but overpriced for what it is. I'd be tempted to pay a little more and go to the Hawksmoor in Manchester for a proper steak cooked as ordered! Especially when paying £78 & £68 respectively. Asked for pink no blood (know, it's not blood), but both came well done(brown). Again, the food was ok for Astley, but Manchester prices. It does not match the quality, unfortunately, or value for money, of similarpriced restaurants. Had the prices been lower, it may have been less of a sting. The ambience certainly spoiled the experience as it was like sitting in a nightclub, with people dancing to club music whilst we were trying to enjoy a meal. We could not even have a conversation with each other as we were unable to hear each other over the music. We tried to make the best of the situation. After paying our £423 bill (excluding tip) and politely mentioning the ambience, the answer was to bring us tequila shots. Bare in mind party of 5, 4 of which over 50, 2 of which over 70 and we had just mentioned that we had gone expecting a restaurant meal not a club/bar experience 😀 luckily we have a sense of humour, although I think the shots were a genuine gesture of apology- Note to management; Know your audience 😀

Food was lovely But Ordered the chorito, which is a ready made wrap with chicken and rice, the chicken still had bones in it. Phoned to tell them and it was blamed on their supplier, dangerous!
