Astley Fish And Chips in Wigan

Ok place cost 19 pound for 2 fish and chips,fish was massive but chips on ration also only opens at 5pm

Best chips around we absolutely love them! Staff are always so friendly as well. A large chips was easily big enough for me and 2 kids. Can't beat this chippy

The chips are mushy and are just a little firmer than Mashed Potatoes. The fish is swimming in oil. Not my favorite place for qualty fish and chips.

wide variety on the menu, pudding and peas were excellent butter mainstay of a chippy are the chips which were ofa good quantity but very poor, threw most away.

Friday 9th Feb 2024 Ordered from here & all I can say the food was fresh hot! & absolutely delicious, the service was great.it will definitely only be our local chippy from now on! Keep the delivery options. There's plenty pensioners out there who would love a good old fashioned chippy on a Friday and cannot get there.

the salt and pepper chicken wings and chips are honestly the best i've had, especially when they add some hot peppers! but no matter what you get it's great food and great staff!

Excellent food, great customer service & friendly.

Everything here always made fresh, yes you have to wait a few minutes but I believe it's worth it as you're getting your food straight out of the fryer and not out from under some heat lamps. The ladies that run the show are always polite and serve with a smile. Great size portions, as an adult its not easy to put away a small fish and chip. I personally love this spot. The only thing that would make it better is if it was open more often. 😬

I went for Lunch with a few friends here and it was really nice. The chips were the perfect consistency and well cooked. Chicken was perfect, wasn’t dry and tasted amazing. They also have salt and pepper fish bites. I never knew that existed but they were GORGEOUS. I am 100% going again!

Been here a few times, never had any issues with staff, food is always served fresh, hot and lovely as always. Kind and polite staff with a good atmosphere not shy of having a good laugh. I had the new salt and pepper fish bites! Oh my days! They left me wanting more!! Will certainly be back xxx

Soggy chips were undercooked and tasted like they warmed up. Gone downhill

Worst fish and chips I have ever had. Batter was well overcooked chips were cold. Annoying cos we’ve been before no problem maybe the place was too busy and they couldn’t cope.Won’t be going again

Just been and fed a family of 4 for £18:95 wow I had the fish deal on a bark and if that 1/2, I eat my hat that’s a full fish in some chippy’s, staff nice and polite, sausage and nuggets went down a treat with the kids x gravy wasn’t like piss water nice and thick and the English curry was lovely xx will definitely be back xx

Good size nicely cooked fish (it was Cod rather than Haddock so surprised the portions were so good). Enjoyed the chips, mushy peas and curry sauce too. Nice polite staff.

Nice fish but chips were cold and not fresh. Don't expect to pay £15 for 2 fish small cold hard chi ps & peas

Food was good and well cooked, however.... ordered large fish and chips, it came in a box and they measly portion barely covered the bottom of the box!! It was the end of the night and used up last bits out the fryer. Very disappointed and still very hungry!

Called in tonight it was the 1st night open, chips were brilliant definitely will be going back. Been back since 1st review standards still high food great staff really friendly.

Great service and great food. Made a huge order for a works lunch and everyone enjoyed their food. Everything was warm and fresh even with so many meals ordered. 10/10 Would recommend

Will probably try again in a few weeks. Called in on a Friday tea time and after a half hour wait we were still nowhere near being served.
