Visit to the mount tonight great atmosphere, staff very friendly.found a big difference since Jo came,food good,enjoy a chat the staff that make us welcome.

Been here 2 or 3 times now, I use it for a contact place for my daughter to see her children, we normally have a meal and this time I did the full english breakfast. I cleared my plate just, but I was disappointed to find the cold plate pulling the heat away from my food

Booked table online. Clean and spacious dinning rooms, pleasant staff. Good menu and choice. Food very good. Good value for money. Will recommend and will be back

Came for Christmas day 3 of us...I must say we were very disappointed my mum's turkey was cold my nut roast had an hair in it roast potatoes were tasteless, was brought to the attention of staff who offered us a complimentary drink at the least I would have expected a refund on one of the meals.. saying that all the staff were excellent and attentive...

The current manager at this pub as at December 22nd, 2024 is a very horrible, rude and wicked boy that has no emphaty or problem solving skills and does not care about customers problem but to justify himself. He deserves to be sacked!! Horrible exprience with him just happened!

We had a lovely wedding anniversary meal tonight at The Mount,25 years ago we had our wedding reception at The Mount and still love going back .

Came for a family meal (14/12) with 2 children, 2 teenagers and 3 adults, the meals were a mixture of really very good and slightly poor quality. However, the girl who served us both at the bar and table was nothing short of an absolute credit to the business, she did introduce herself while sitting us but unfortunately I can't remember her name, as I'd have liked to bring this to the managers attention.

We stayed one night in the hotel very clean and tidy good value staff helpful no problem at all. We also had breakfast in the pub very enjoyable good service and good value for price. Thank you to the staff will use again.

Large pub belonging to Hungry Horse. Beer is mainstream breweries with no independent ones which is a shame. Beer prices are a little high for the area. Food is standard fare, for a large chain pub, but is reasonably priced and has specials on most days with discounts. Last visit the pub was warm and clean. The only thing that is never clean is the menus, they are always sticky with the residue of previous guests. Staff are helpful and pleasant.

We went to The Mount today 09/12/24 and had the full Monty mixed grill which was priced at £9 on the Monday Special Menu instead of £13.99. Great value and well cooked !!

We came for our yearly Christmas meal and everything was perfect! The table was ready for us and the staff were very friendly! Sarah helped us throughout and couldn’t do enough! All round a very amazing experience

Eleanor was absolutely lovely, very kind and pleasant. Made our visit extra nice with my mum and went above and beyond. :)

Had breakfast, I don’t like mushrooms so asked without. Usually I’am able to get an extra piece of toast instead. Not this time… waiter charged me 99p for a piece of toast… come on guys!! A full loaf doesn’t cost more than £1.50… very greedy IMO 🤷‍♂️ heyho, there are other pubs around serving breakfast!!

The menu is mostly concentrated on pork. There was no proper service. We complained about the poor quality of the food, burnt items, and the rutted salad came with it. They just said that they were sorry. No replacement was offered.

Usual spot for lunch and breakfast with my partner. Very affordable option with very little drop in quality for what you're paying. The staff are always helpful and nice, Eleanor for example always goes the extra mile. Even when the restaurant is busy kitchen seems to keep food moving in and out seamlessly. Only critique is the music is in appropriately timed but adds a level of quirkiness to our visit.

I go to this place all the time with family and I've never had a bad experience. The food is always nice and the staff are always nice and helpfull. I big thankyou to Eleonar the member of staff that served us today.

If your thinking of coming here for dinner don't bother!! spend your money somewhere else. Food was shockingly awful, ordered a bacon cheese burger that actually came with no bacon and looked like those cheap nasty £2 burgers from farm foods, ordered a well done steak which came bloody, sausages looked pale and tasteless, was very disappointing. Never going back again :(

Restaurant/bar pub is nice, good breakfast, typical British atmosphere. Hotel room is in a building behind the restaurant. Reasonably spacious room, good bed, outdated bathroom. Carpet in the hallway may need to be replaced at some point. Friendly reception.

The mount in orrell. Took my partners for the curry night. We had been before . Which at one times the curry night, and the price was £8.00 or up grade for £10 with drinks. This time went for curry night and it was £8.00 and with drink. Then needed to buy extra,s which was £2.99 and you only get 1 onion bagie and a samara. The meal came it was there was 1 small spoon of rice and 2 spoons of curry in a bowl. The nana breads were not cooked properly. And we had to ask for parpdoms and the chutneys. I have a blue card and everytime I go there is a excuse that I don't get the discounts. The offer use to be good but the food as gone down hill. Which means that I will be looking for somewhere else to go for a meal . Plus there was bits of kids drinking alcohol

I come here for business meetings, the staff are friendly and very helpful. There is good quality WiFi and plenty of quiet places to sit with ample table and chairs to suit how many are in the meeting. It is clean and free parking on the premises.

So convenient for visiting friends and family in the area. Bed and pillows were excellent, room spacious and comfortable. Car parking available which was essential. Always a really useful stopover for us for a few days. Food is typical of many fast food places but the staff were very friendly and on one occasion surpassed all expectations with a very late dinner request from us and the food was still fresh, well cooked and presented - a big thankyou for that. We arrived on a very rainy day to witness the bar area swamped with rain pouring through the roof, staff using mops and buckets - a very Dickensian scene - apparently the problem not helped by the buildings protected status so appropriate repairs difficult if not impossible to implement. If this is true then yet again a piece of useless bureaucracy from English heritage or whoever is responsible. The roof is clearly not fit for purpose. But Greene King should also be doing something to assist their staff.

Good location with ample parking, the room was clean but it smelled very fusty and stale from the hallways and in the room, could definitely do with an uplift. No milks provided in the room and only one towel for a family of four but was easily rectified at reception. For the cost for one night you can put up with it but again definitely could do with an uplift.

I can only rate the food and service, as did not use the room. Food was good, place was clean staff was pleasant. Looks like they need new tables and furniture though very marked and worn so needs an upgrade. Overall pleased with the visit and would definitely go again.

Very poor service. Didn't notify us there was a wait of 30 mins for food, the bar staff told us how much the order was, we used a voucher but they failed to inform us the amount had increased. Would have been better if they had said it was better not to use the voucher. Their response? "It's in the T&C's". Going that extra mile is what it's about. We've given The Mount a second chance, and this was it. Poor value, adequate quality of food, but good service from the waiting staff. Sadly we cannot recommend The Mount.

Lovely staff in past but manager well what can I say! Absolute disgrace of a person saved up to pay for a hotel for 2 days whilst visiting family.. I travelled all day from Sheffield to Wigan with 3 kids 2 of them with special needs as well also I’m pregnant so I was tired and wanted to sleep turned up they couldn’t find my booking although I had it on my phone they then said I had to cancel so I did then he decided to say I can’t have my money back for it 🤷‍♀️ a young guy was on he understood what was going on he tried to help this idiot said I couldn’t have 2 singles room as they don’t have kids in mount 🤷‍♀️ I have stayed here lots of times with my children he then went on to say I had 10 kids trying to book into a family room please tell me were these 10 children are! Stayed here previous and he was moaning back then as well will NOT recommend this place to anyone abosoltue disgrace

Been here 2 hours waited for 2 curries, 3 kids meals took 40 mins then order wrong waited a further 5 mins for bhajis and samosa,poppadom was horrendous they did replace and, we ordered 22 mins for puddings and still waiting. Won't be back

Ideal location for rugby and easy to find just off motorway

Came with my boyfriend the other weekend and received great service from the team. We arrived post-breakfast service and the regular menu doesn’t offer a vegetarian full English, just a meat-based one (which was a bit disappointing). Luckily, a team member nipped into the kitchen and organised a veggie one being cooked for me anyway. I was really grateful; it was such a nice touch. With this in mind, ordering was really easy and enjoyable. Our visit could have done with a little TLC here and there - the tables were VERY sticky and both mine and my boyfriend’s mushrooms looked anaemic 😭 A grilled tomato, and a choice of eggs wouldn’t have gone a miss either. If you’re looking for cheap and fast food and you’re not too bothered about the quality, you’re onto a winner here.

Called in for lunch today for the first time, purchased 2 meals off the midweek special menu, choose 2 meals for £10 each on the deal, the meal were ok nothing special to be honest. The meals were meant to be £14.50 each without the special offer, I certainly would not have paid that price for what we got ….

Poor in so many respect. Room was filthy , dried blood on sheets, dried what looked like poo on sheets and pillow, pubes around the taps and gaffer tape covering a hole in the floor. Booked for 3 nights , checked out after night 1, avoid at all costs

My Granddaughter visited the Mount on/11/May 2024. and her ID was not accepted even tho her meal and drink were charged to her. As the drink was not served she should have had her drink money refunded. My Family have been going to the Mount Restaurant for a number of years to celebrate Birthdays and Anniversary's' I do not understand how you can not accept a phone ID from a single mother of a Five year old when you had served her on Saturday the 9/Feb /2019 her 18th birthday and also on the Saturday 12/Feb/2022 her 21st birthday

I visited 'The Mount', today, with a friend at about 6pm, there were plenty of spaces in the car park, We easily found an unoccupied table. Menus were available in the condiment holder. Ordering was straightforward, the staff were polite and friendly Our order was completed in a timely manner, the food was good, the room was comfortable, the tables looked like they had had a hard life. but they were perfectly functional.

We attended the mount on 13th April 2024, the meals are absolutely vile. I'd say they are microwave level standard. I had the mixed grill, egg was raw, sausages barely cooked, something which I think was chicken was strange and not edible,pineapple disgusting. My partner had katsui chicken, had about 6 chips and 7 grains of rice. Drinks were bad too, draught beer had a very metallic taste. It's gone downhill that place avoid!!

Only went for a couple of pints, not the cheapest place considering it's a pint and over £4 for a carling is expensive but suppose it's going rate for most pubs now, probably explains why most people can't afford go out any more

Popped in today for breakfast, was served by ell at the bar, Mike brought our food, excellent service so friendly, Under new management Lisa is such a friendly and polite person! Recommend popping in to give them a go at your convenience! Food was great value, hot and tasty!

We went to celebrate a family birthday, there were 12 of us and we got looked after splendidly. All the food arrived really hot, everything was correct with no errors and all the plates were empty when we finished. The food was excellent, but that was nothing compared to the Guinness. That was poured to absolute perfection, and it even had a shamrock on the top.

The mount is a Hungry Horse pub which means plenty on offer of which there are daily offers. Excellent food and the staff was great. 👍

Duty manager very rude arrogant slammed our food on table and put a red hot sizzling platter Infront of my three year old granddaughter in her high chair almost scolded her .I had to shout at him not to put it there Infront of the baby . And went straight over her head with sizzling platter

Went for a pre Cheltenham Pub Afternoon Meal at the Mount. Also my partners Birthday. I had the Mini Mixed Grill and Sandra had the Chicken Parmiagana. Sandra's was fine by my Grill was Underwhelming to say the least. A thin slice of Gammon A little overcooked. Two pieces of Chicken that seemed undercooked on the bottom and overdone on the top. Two hard boiled sausage and half a dozen frozen chips Not been for a while and won't be going back for a while longer. On the plus side the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Good, honest pub food at a fair price. Excellent choice of ales and lagers. The staff are very friendly, not least Eleanor, and service is top notch. A clean and comfortable venue too. What more could you ask for?!
