The best restaurants in Oxton Wirral North West

Having received a Pub co. Gift voucher, we decided on the Caernarvon Castle, as my partner uses it occasionally and enjoys it there. Despite being Christmas Eve, the whole meal was thoroughly enjoyable and the pub wasn't too busy. Staff were efficient and attentive. My only gripe was the lack of real ale, but I understand this us the norm for Greene King houses.

Great bar - staff really friendly, food excellent and calm atmosphere. Dogs welcome.

Don't do food. Good service. Tired decor, needs complete upgrade. Good live bands.

Great gig with Hello Felix. Not much space to boogie and couldn't really see the band. Pub could do with a rethink of layout

Went on Thursday evening for our anniversary and had such a fabulous meal that we immediately booked for Sunday lunch. What a letdown. Arrived on time to be advised by the maitre d' that the only available tables were by the front door with 'iron throne' seats and every customer and member of staff constantly passing by, or upstairs but had to vacate the table within the hour because a large party was expected. How preposterous! So we cancelled and went to a nearby pub instead. Sent an email complaint but have had no response. A master class in how to win and lose local customers at one fell stroke!

Found this cafe in March this year 2024 and have been back every Friday since, their breakfast is the best we’ve ever tasted, the quality of the produce and the cooking ability is top class, we look forward to it every week. We were only looking for a cafe on the day but it is that good we keep going back. We get a full English and poached eggs with bacon. Their tea is fantastic too. Thanks to the staff who are lovely too. Would recommend this cafe to everyone it’s the best!

Well cooked food with some interesting vegetarian meals, which makes a pleasant change. Prices were reasonable and the food was tasty and good value for money.

We’ve visited the restaurant a few times now. Tasty pizza and friendly service. Perfect for a relaxed family dinner. I think the pizzas are slightly overpriced compared to my favourite pizzerias in Liverpool City Centre. I was also surprised to see that the takeaway menu is the same price as the sit in menu. If it was slightly cheaper (say 20% discount for takeout ) I’d be more inclined to order regularly. We’ll definitely still return as it’s still one of the best family friendly dinning options in the village :)

Cozy pub with a great atmosphere. Excellent value for money, great selection of beers, food was lovely and came out in great time. Staff all so friendly … will definitely be back again soon!

Chips always look really nice but taste yuk.I walk to further ones now as i got sick of chucking yucky meals away

Ordered from the new Prenton shop. Lovely soft pizza, not too greasy and not too long a wait. Will will return.

Food was mediocre at best. Threw most of it away. Both of us have had bad stomachs. Total waste of money

Awful. Please avoid. Used for many years but omg 😲 not now. Chips awful.. satay chicken here now comes with gravy and onions! It's sad really.. as this was a great chippy. Never again
