We went xnas day everything was perfect

After reading such great reviews we decided to try out the Walnut Tree after a change of hands just over a year ago. We had very high hopes and the menu read deliciously! Unfortunately and maybe it was just an off day to give benefit of the doubt but the starters were poor. The brie was like.a hollow husk with no cheese we think it may have all melted away. Roast was OK but beef overcooked and veg had been nuked. Deserts simply mediocre at best. Setting is nice and pleasant and staff friendly. Like I say could have been an off day for the chef but we would hesitate to return with food of this quality.

Nice location on the way to Eurotunnel. Welcomong and helpful staff. Bathroom needs updating.

Stayed for one night & it was clean and tidy. It's a nicer location than the Premier inn at junction 9 on the M20. We did the meal & breakfast deal which was a bargain. Already booked to stay again in January 2025. Room was large & facilities are basic but it's what you expect from a budget hotel. I think it's daft not letting you into your room until 3pm though even though we were told it was ready. Are you that hard up for a tenner? We spent the tenner next door in the pub. Simples.

Delicious flat white served by nice staff.

Stopped for lunch after a very long walk. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was great. Fish and chips were perfect. My hubby had a burger which he said was very tasty and home made and my friend had the risotto which she enjoyed too. All at a very reasonsable price. 100 per cent recommend.

A dining experience to remember! The meals were expertly prepared, and the cozy setting provided a relaxing escape from the ordinary.

Never been here before pulled in on the off chance on a Saturday afternoon fantastic welcome by the landlady. My wife had a Ploughman. I had a ham, egg and chips. My wife said it was the best PLANS she’d ever had and my ham and chips was spot on give it a try you won’t be disappointed and great value for money.

Bad experience this evening. Had food from here a week ago and it was amazing so decided to have again but everything was undercooked this time round. Perhaps because it was a busy Friday night service vs the mid week. Batter was soggy and most of the chips not soft in the middle. Unfortunately you don’t know till you bring it home so can’t sort in the shop. Real shame as you could hear the staff trying to get it out as quick as poss but if they’d just waited a couple more mins it would have been the usual high standard :( feels like money wasted

Toastie only toasted on one side. No salt or pepper available. Pretty grim for the price.

First time visiting this Chinese ( due to my fav was shut that day) * If you want poor flavours. *small portions * terrible service * rude staff member * The egg fried rice had no egg in. it looked like a colouring was added . The ribs lack lustre and dry. So after two bites , which made me feel very unpleasant .we decided to take a whole lot back . Only to met by worse passive aggressive owner . Not only did the owner fail to sort in a professional manner. Claim the card machine suddenly stop working ! Call me names and to point said to my face , not a Christian or a god ! She hid the card and wouldn't let us see what she doing . After an hour after showing the owner ,if a business can not provide a refund due to a card machine ( totally believe was lying ), a business can do a cash refund . Felt sorry for the man .he was very embarrassed by her actions . He apologised but she refused . I reported this business to trading standards.
