Popped in for lunch without a reservation which was no problem at all, we had our dog with us and he was welcomed too. We were sat by a lovely wood burner and both ordered the fajitas which were lovely. We were served by Clara who was really attentive, even offered water for the dog. The menu is smokehouse so something different, really sweet outdoor space as well. Would really recommend a visit to this pub!

Had a meal here on Thursday evening. Staff were attentive and friendly and the food was probably the best pub food I’ve ever had. Freshly cooked and arrived in good time. Would 100% recommend. Decor looks like the pub is being renovated and looks like it’ll be great for summer

Had this delicious meal at Amy’s today. My sister had the bagel with and I had the seasonal toast with bacon and poached eggs. The chef made this gluten free for me and it was very tasty. I have eaten many many times at this lovely establishment and as a coeliac have always been catered for very well. Can’t praise the food enough. The staff are always so welcoming and attentive. Try it you won’t be disappointed.

Having booked the Christmas lunch for £120 per head we were expecting a festive feast fit for a king and queen! What we were presented with was certainly far from that. The bucks fizz on arrival was tasteless and a very strange opaque colour. However, we thought let's get a nice glass of wine. The wine was awful and came up in the cheapest glasses. Now for the starters. The soup was tasteless slop and came with butter thrown on a plate (cheap portion wrapped butter usually found at the local cafe). Scallops were edible to be magnanimous. Next came the main event... well the plates for the turkey were no bigger than side plates, the food piled high. Roast potatoes were like iron and brussels tasteless. The turkey came with a slither of stuffing and the side plate of vegetables was meagre and served with no imagination not even a parsnip in sight. Cheapest vegetables used. The beef was not roast beef as you would know it, it was a slab of what tasted like reconstituted meat. Very poor presentation for a special meal. Water glasses came up and were plastic! Never had that in any restaurant. Desserts were OK but again presentation left alot to be desired. The ladies serving were a real pleasure though and probably if honest saved the experience we encountered. For what was a very expensive Christmas treat (we normally eat at home) it is certainly one we felt was very poor. The presentation, food quality and breadth of choice was inadequate. Money for old rope! Really the management whom never made themselves known should be ashamed of the overpriced con this was. I would imagine many felt the same as we did witness people complaining at other tables and asking for refunds. We would never return and will be telling anyone who will listen how dreadful this experience was! Poor show Farriers Arms you did it all on the cheap and it showed.

I am a single woman traveling alone, in charming Tenterden for the first time. I attended the beautiful fair there one Spring morning and finished up at the Lemon Tree as it looked...and is....very old/historic. I was promptly seated, ordered fish and chips. The serving was enormous and delicious. The waiter was very attentive. I think the negative comments are from people who are themselves rude/demanding, and think only of themselves. The service industry is heavy with patients/public who never think beyond what they want, and when (NOW). I had a lovely time and was treated like a queen in a wonderful 14th century environment. A most memorable experience. I plan to return to the area soon and repeat the experience. Mary Ann Bumgarner, RN, Greenville, South Carolina.
