Fabulous Hove steakhouse. Great food and staff. Lovely tasty steaks. Service was a bit slow considering it was practically empty.

Just had to wait 40 minutes for breakfast and missed our train. I was told that the delay was because they were very busy, which clearly wasn’t true as the place wasn’t full. Our order had obviously got forgotten even though they were overstaffed. I counted 4 people serving about 15 customers. The staff were happily talking about their holidays and dating, and taking cigarette breaks, rather than checking the orders had been processed. The chef even came out for a coffee break and gossip - while we had been waiting 30 mins. In fairness they did apologise profusely and took some items off the bill. The breakfast was ok when it came but certainly not worth the wait.

Happened across this while walking along the beach on a chilly winters afternoon. Popped in for a coffee and had a great time playing Azul, really lovely staff and will definitely be returning.

The Bali Brasserie has a longstanding reputation. I was looking forward to a quiet evening with my partner. But the only table for two was located in a corner right next to the buffet table and next to an unending queue of diners. It was very noisy. Hardly a romantic spot! The buffet menu seems rather overpriced.

I traveled from Colorado, USA to the London for work and I had the opportunity to bring along my father with me. He was born in the UK and as we were planning various things to do, he had reminisced about going down to the coast as a child to play in the arcades and eating the best fish and chips. As he was telling me about his childhood, I knew immediately I wanted to relive it with him. We were able to catch a quick train to Brighton from London and on the trip down I started to do my research on finding a great place to eat our lunch and landed on Captain’s. A great place right on the water by the pier. After my dad and I played in the arcade on the pier and bought Brighton Rock candy to enjoy on the trip back to London we headed over to Captain’s. As we walked in, we were happily greeted and brought to our table. We both ordered the Fish and Chip’s and I got an extra side of fried scampi. To drink, my dad got a coke and I went for the Brixton Brewery West Coast IPA. Our drinks came right away, and I have to say the Brixton IPA was great! This is coming from a guy living in Colorado beer country. After some chatting between my dad and I our cooked to order meal came out. The batter used at Captain’s is from a 35-year-old secret recipe and only the highest quality fish and locally sourced potatoes are used. I knew I was in for something good. As we took our first bites it was evident we found the right place. The fish was perfectly fried. The outside was crisp, not crunchy and the fish was tender, moist and delicious on the inside. The chips were cut the exact right length, fried golden brown with excellent crisp on the outside and the precise balance of fluffy on the inside. I was super happy about ordered the scampi too as that was a nice extra treat. We even got an extra basket of chips on the house to top us off! The wait staff and Pam were superb! All took the time to speak with us and really made this a great experience for me and my dad reliving his youth. I can understand why it was so memorable for him and now thanks to Captain’s and their crew it has become an everlasting memory for me too! I will be back with my children soon and highly recommend this great establishment. Cheers!

Had a really lovely lunch, the pirzola was AMAZING!

Please can you advertise your opening times correctly. Online it says that you close at 3pm. We arrived just after 2pm and it was very clearly shut. It’s a shame because we were very excited for your hash!!!

Really enjoyed food and service. I had the carbonara and it knocked mine into a cocked hat! Friend has Calzone which I tried and we both loved.

Frankie is a friendly guy who knows his products well. The food is excellent and reasonably priced I had the chilli prawns which were sumptuous. Get there before the season ends, you won’t taste better.

This place is a little gem. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions were quite large for the price. It was a literal feast! They also have several vegetarian options The atmosphere is very nice and the restaurant is dog friendly. The staff is absolutely lovely, so kind and helpful. I very much recommend this restaurant!

A primera vista este lugar no parece muy grande o de lujo. Una cálida bienvenida espera. ¡Las mesas estaban llenas el sábado por la noche excepto la que agarramos! Siempre es un gran indicador cuando la mitad de los otros clientes eran tailandeses! Tanto nuestros entrantes como los principales eran deliciosos y se sirven rápidamente. Muy recomendable

Found this absolute gem of a pub while visiting our daughter and son in law for Christmas and we are so glad we did. Only visiting for 5 days and already have been back 3 times! Eaten here twice and the food is fantastic (highly recommend the chicken wings and the burgers) we all enjoyed our meals. Staff are great and very friendly and the manager couldn't do enough

Acabamos de tener un delicioso almuerzo de domingo - todos teníamos carne asada que estaba perfectamente cocinado (rosa - justo como debería ser) y muy tierno. Deliciosas verduras y gran salsa casera. Porciones muy generosas y un servicio excepcional de un equipo encantador. Recomendamos encarecidamente su carne asada, pero si la carne asada no es lo tuyo, tenían una gran selección de otros asados en el menú (que se veían encantadores cuando salían de la cocina).
