The best restaurants in Isle of Wight South East

Lovely little pub with very friendly staff and really good food. While visiting friends we were treated to lunch here. I had a beef crumpet that was sensational and some excellent fish and chips. My wife’s pie was delicious and a sensible portion size. Lots of quirky little touches separate this pub from the norm and it was lovely to warm up after a walk along the river. Delicious we will be back.

Staff are so friendly and helpful, dealt with dietary requirements brilliantly and the food is fantastic! Thank you!

We held my late fathers wake here, The food was perfect 👌 a buffet for 35 people, All the choices we made were served beautifully, plenty to go round and even gave us take away boxes for the bits left, (well worth the money )lovely staff, Made the final farewell perfect. Great food and place but bit of a wait for food. However complimentary drink for food taking so long. But everything else was great 👍

We were the only people there, the guy serving us had a beanie on as it was freezing, we waited 30 minutes for a drink and an hr for food, my food was ok too mild for me the Rogan Josh had braised lamb and Tandoori lamb ? Looked like left overs! We will not be back!

I was served by a lovely lady saturday evening, soooo helpful, i wanted chips and a veggie burger, and she was honest and told me the chips are cooked in beef fat, i wouldnt have been impressed if i had eaten any after being a vegetarian for 42 years! Soooo much appreciated, i love honesty too, a big believer in it, also they did me some fries cooked using something else. Thankyou all again. Top notch service, after driving around what seemed like forever to try and park near, so all your kindness was very welcome. 😁

Just one word about the lady owner amazing. She is such a sweet heart help me get some tourist spots. And had nice time spending in their pub

Came in to see a friend and left with a warm contented feeling, the place is warm and cozy and very friendly, but spacious enough to not be overbearing. The food is excellent and it has to be the best burger on the island hands down, it’s huge, full of flavour and seriously tasty, highly recommend the village inn

Dived into this cafe bar restaurant because of the bad weather on New Years day. It was busy and well staffed. Nice menu. Four of us had the fish and chips lunch special which was excellent. They make a very good capuchino too. Friendly and efficient staff. Pay and display parking out front. Access via narrow road so take care. Over looks the sea and from here you can see the wreck of the crashed speed boat from 3 odd years ago. A must place to eat if visiting the IOW.
