The best restaurants in Lyndhurst New Forest South East

Amazing breakfast and service. Brilliant value for money, very friendly staff. Can’t fault them!! Will definitely be back. Dogs also welcome which is lovely

We have been visiting the New Forest for Years and usually stop off at the Tea Rooms before heading to our Hotel / or Cottage . The Food is always great, particularly the Dorset Apple Cake , fresh and fruity. This time we also enjoyed the Toasties , good ingredients and nicely presented. The Staff were lovely and super friendly , we always look forward to our visit. Maybe time for a slight refurb of the room -just to freshen it up, but a good value experience

Honestly food was amazing, can’t fault that at all! But the customer service was appalling, we turned up to an empty restaurant at 5pm asking for a table for 2, and was initially told there were no tables. After saying we wanted to eat right away, we got a table and sat down. Starters were lovely, mains came and I ordered a burger with chips, and it felt like I was asking for the world when I requested some Mayo. They didn’t check whether the food was okay half way through, when we asked for the bill, they came over to collect the mains and didn’t ask whether we enjoyed the food. Service charge added straight away, so we removed as I didn’t feel it was deserved. Weird atmosphere, but couldn’t fault the food!

Never have i had such an awful experience with any takeaway whatsoever. I’ll begin with the fact that the food was late, but that’s not that big of a deal. The first issue lies with the fact that half the food was either missing or wrong. Missing 3 rices, Naan was wrong. Again i’m a forgiving person i’ve had this before with takeaways and usually quick phone call and it’s sorted. Didn’t receive a refund, new food or anything. They’ve said i can get a discount soon and that’s it. Aswell i’ve never had a worst tasting indian. The chicken tikka masala tasted like milk and tomato paste. Food was barely warm. I’m suprised because the other reviews aren’t negative. Please note i’m not one to have a rant i’ve never written a review for anywhere full stop. Please do yourself a favour and go down to asha in ashurst and get food there. It’s closed on a monday so i took my chance with this place. Never again.

After passing this place numerous times over the years, I had the opportunity to visit today, I had a milkshake and pancakes with peanut butter and banana, absolutely delicious, I was the only diner and unfortunately today was their last day of trading, I'm so glad I finally got a visit in, such a shame it's closing tbh, very good food/service at a reasonable price

Excellent food very fresh & the best Thai we have had for a long time great flavours. Lovely staff served with a smile & not too long a wait even though they were busy.

Unassuming little cafe in Lyndhurst which we just popped in to as passing at end of a long walk. Had excellent coffee, strong and piping hot with fresh tasty scones. Very reasonable prices, lovely lady served us and spotless cafe. Little gem. Not surprised they were very busy.

Great hotel with lots of character

Exceptional food and exceptional service. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others. We regularly holiday in the area but this is the first time we have tried this restaurant. We will most certainly be back! Thank you.

Tried to go last Saturday evening, No phone attendance, booking system did not work, just turned up to find it closed.

We were here for a large family lunch. We were welcomed and shown to our private dining room, and served with welcome drinks and canapés. We had ordered our meals in advance, and were very much looking forward to it. My cream of mushroom soup was delicious, and hot. Sadly, my main of roast turkey was tepid at best. The roast potatoes were cold and almost inedible. It was such a shame, as we were being treated, which made me think twice about reviewing it. That being said, if we had been dining as a couple, we would have sent it back. I realise it must be difficult when serving 30 people at the same time, and trying to keep it all hot. However, I have to say they our servers were brilliant and very attentive.

Really fancied Indian food today and I’ve had some awful food when I’ve looked around in the past. This place was amazing, the food was incredible and the service was great. Would really recommend this place to anyone around the area. So many regulars coming and going, I can seriously see why!

Had a meal Wednesday 15th January and it was excellent and wonderful service.
