The best restaurants in Rother South East

A wonderful hotel. Cosy bed, great en-suite bathroom and fantastic staff. We had evening meals, as well as breakfast, and each meals were absolutely delicious! I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed for a night with some friends, such a lovely place. The food was fantastic and the staff were so welcoming. Would love to stay again.

Only open when there are sufficient staff on duty, it is a small cafe (which can get overcrowded) but there's plenty of seating outside with good views of Bodiam Castle. The staff are friendly and helpful and the coffee was up to the usual good National Trust standard.

Alwayscee we Roth a visit for their random selection of recipes. If in doubt the standard pork and herb is still hood.

Fantastic stay. Rooms are dated but spotless and charming. Breakfast very nice. Rachael, the hotel manager, is absolutely fantastic! She is warm and helpful and makes you feel extremely welcome. She's wonderful. Highly recommend.

Rubbish not even open on Saturday disgusting the kids were happy and to get their and its closed .....blood disgrace

Not been here for a while, went to watch the football, then a band set up after (who sounded great), can't comment on food, as we didn't eat, but service was really nice and friendly, and atmosphere in pub was really good. Will absolutely return.

The food was horrible. Bland rice and cheap preformed meat. Tasteless garbage sadly.

Basic cuisine, incorrectly cooked and not fresh

Chips are very good but for the price your chips don’t even fill you up , call them kiddies portions 👍

I came for dinner on Tuesday 10th December When we arrived went to the bar to order drinks Sat down after 10 minutes approaching the bar man asked if had a table for dinner to which he checked he's watch to be told yes only just about 8.15. Was seated at a table Ordered pork pie starter When half way through start our main course arrived The young waitress when asked why is our main course has been served as we not finished starter her reply was Kitchen is closing at 9pm so to serve food now. This is not great service as felt rushed and didn't want food to go cold So left most of my main course as can't eat fast. All in all It's wasn't what we wxpected

Stuck in Battle for work on a Monday evening. Having been inflicted with appalling chips from another local establishment recently I made a point of trying Taylor's. Very pleasantly surprised. Large cod and medium chips was £12.50 as of December '24 which is comparable to mcgits and others. Quality excellent, portion size enough to quiet the tummy gremlins for several hours. Made request for forks and a napkin on my collection order note via their website that they provided without needing to be reminded. Order was ready two minutes after I walked in to collect it. Very happy with the service.

Ordered by phone fish & chips just collected. Was charged a booking fee. Was shocked. So to save me waiting and collected myself was charged £3. So 23.70 for two fish & chips. was not told this when I ordered to collect. I'm disgusted. Everywhere you go now there is additional charge. Everywhere making extra cash with add ons. Will never go there again or pre order id rather wait!!

Ordered a take away arrived 20 mins late and was stone cold paid 50 quid for 3 stone cold burgers and chips. Called the shop which said they would send a replacement meal. 30 mins later they recalled and said they couldnt send us a replacement meal as they didnt know how the food could be cold and the manager said no even though the manager wasnt there! Great service!!!! Never will I eat here again and I will make sure none of my mates will either!!!! Absolutely awful! Do not waste your hard earned cash on this joke of a business! I would be embarresed if i worked for this business.
