We came here to celebrate my sons birthday as we like it here and live quite locally.Food was lovely, beautiful place and never had any issues before. However, this time the girl that served us most of the time was what I would describe as frosty and really didnt seem like she even wanted to be there. We didn't let it spoil our evening but it made us feel uncomfortable. When we walked through after the meal, we said good bye and thankyou. She could barely bring herself to even look up and say bye! Very stuck up and very rude! The other staff members, however seemed lovely. Maybe this individual needs to look for a job that doesn't involve speaking to people!

After a cold walk at Parke, our family, including my mother in law and toddler were very keen to get in the warm and look forward to tea and cake. We had planned our afternoon around it and looked online to check it was open. There were also many signs saying that they were open. So we were most disappointed when they had closed by 2.30 that afternoon. The lady at the national trust office said it was quiet so the owners had closed early, despite the car park being half full. She also said the national trust were independent from the cafe, despite having their logo on the actual cafe. It was very frustrating. A simple update on the website would have saved us from disappointment.

As usual, a warm welcome from The Nobody Inn on a snowy night. Fought our way through literally 4 cms of snow to go to the Beaujolais Nouveau event. This new wine was matched with a classic Boeuf Bourguignon. Both perfect. The temperature from the cosy fire and the welcome were both warm. Some locals in the pub rescued us and pushed us out of the snow drifts - very pleased to join the other guests. Always been a great pub.

We walked through the village into this cosy, charming pub. We'd phoned an hour earlier, and could only get a table for 6pm as it was fully booked on a Tuesday evening. The host was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a good table, so could look out at the pub and it's characterful decor. The pies were superb. I had chicken and mushroom. The icecream dessert was excellent.

Weāve been told that the food will be a little bit late , but we waited for an hour and half, while the other people that came after us, got the food served. They bring two Coke drinks after half an hour. We will definitely never come back here and we definitely DONāT RECOMMEND IT

We came for a breakfast after looking at reviews, we usually go to a well known cafe on Shaldon side but thought we would switch it up. Staff were friendly and nice coffee. However the small breakfast was VERY SMALL for Ā£12 was about enough food for my toddler. I understand one of each which is what we ordered but a teaspoon of beans and 3 tiny button mushrooms? Could be a little more generous. No pepper on tables only salt? And everything was very oily. Better value for money elsewhere:
