Nice place, nice staff. Can get very busy at times.

What a wonderful place. We walked in without a booking. The cafe was busy, but the lovely staff squeezed us in. I had the best breakfast I have had for years. The maple glazed halloumi sticks were amazing. Lovely, friendly staff, wonderful food and a nice atmosphere. Also dog friendly. We will definitely be back.

Tried to come here after seeing the Christmas special on social media and thought we would give it a try. It was pouring with rain and we had 3 hungry kids in tow. We went in and were told very rudely the cafe was full, we asked about reserving a table and were told “we are busy!”. We tried to wait around for a table and were told “you can’t stand there”. The two women behind the counter were whispering to each other. Another table moved and we sorted our own table, then after we were seated were told they had sold out of the Christmas special. Clearly they don’t cater for pushchairs or children, and don’t want to. We left, we went to our usual place where we know we get friendly service and good food. I appreciate people may be busy and stressed but if you are front of house you need some level of customer service skills. I was shocked by the rudeness and haven’t ever experienced anything like it! I tried to contact the manager on instagram but it won’t let me message them, as feel they need to be aware what their staff are like. I can see from the previous reviews I’m not the first to experience this and probably won’t be the last.

The best fish and chips! Consistently excellent every time and I've been a regular customer for around six years. I've recommended The Usual Plaice to many friends over the years and they are in total agreement with me. I always buy takeaways, but one of my friends who is elderly and no longer drives, really appreciates the friendly and very reasonable delivery service.

A very nice evening with a very enjoyable meal. Food was excellent as per usual, and good value for the quality. Staff were both helpful and attentive. Repeat visit, a totally great experience. Would always be than happy to return again.

This is a lovely place with friendly staff. However at busy times the staff are very stressed indeed so it's difficult to feel comfortable there as two extra people expecting drinks and food, especially when they have large groups to cater for. Dogs welcome. Lovely location.very popular especially holiday times. However personally I prefer a relaxing atmosphere to unwind with friend or two or catch up on emails in peace, so all the chatter and noise etc is not for me at busy times. Food and service is good though.

We ate at The Linny twice whilst on holiday in the same village. We had seen mixed reviews but we had two very pleasant meals. Staff was very efficient and helpful, food was good and the atmosphere was great (no background music). It is not the cheapest but it is not that expensive either. A good selection of beers and wines, including a range of wine by the glass at reasonable prices. The roast on Sunday was excellent and good value. I would definitely go again.

I would highly recommend the Sunday carvary, food served lovely and hot and vegetables cooked to perfection, all fresh. We have just spent the last few hours enjoying one of the best roast dinners. The service was excellent and the staff were really nice helpful.

Ordered the cream tea. It was delicious but it was a long wait.

Been here a decent amount of times now. The atmosphere is lovely, owners/staff are lovely and the chef.. he knows what he's doing. I recommend the Egg Mayo sandwich/baguette.

Fantastic cafe in fact so good we visited twice in a week! Had a breakfast which was lovely, great quality ingredients and served fresh and hot. Went back for an omelette and fish finger butty both spot on. Had to have cream tea as well which I have to say the scones really are the best in the area. They were lush. Also took a slice of coffee cake away with us! ..well we are on holidays. Honestly this is a gem of a place. Dog friendly too which is always a bonus for us. Dont walk past it do go and see the ladies they do not disappoint.

So glad we came across this cake shop 🧁 We were visiting the local pet shop and stopped in our tracks when we seen these amazing cakes through the window! Also, what a happy soul you have working there too! Singing their absolute heart out, and quite possibly the happiest person we met all holiday 🥰 (30th May).

Have used this fish and chip shop for years and even drive 5 miles out of my way to go there however on my last 3 visits the quality has been very poor, The chips are very dry when usually they have been very good. I would understand if the chips had been sat there awhile but on 2 occasions the shop was very busy. Sadly I will have to find somewhere else to buy my chips from now on.
