The best restaurants in Lyme Regis West Dorset South West

Nestled among the kiosks, restaurants and pubs this little gem is a must for ice cream lovers. Selling some of the nicest ice cream I have had - Marshfield Farm. I opted for a waffle cone with 2 scoops, mint choc chip and honeycomb. I even shared it with my husband who loves mint choc chip! Well worth a visit, just be wary of the seagulls!

Lovely dinner. I would warn however that the staff brought around what we thought were 'chefs favours'/Amuse Bouche as they took around to all guests and did not ask if we would like to order or that there was a cost. These were then added to the bill. This felt a little deceitful and left a bitter taste for us. We would recommend that the staff simply say "would you like to try one of these canapes (not on the menu) and they will be added to your bill'. Locals are probably aware of this 'custom' of Strawberry Tree.

Nice restaurant, we had a lovely dinner - delicious brill and a very big (and very tasty) plate of fish chips. Good service too.

Absolutely wonderful!!! They also sell doggy ice cream!!! And release awesome limited edition flavours! You have to be fast though because they sell out so quickly! It’s amazing that they also post ice cream!!! Love!!!

I had the Marie rose prawn salad which was delicious - fresh and tasty and the bread was so good. My partner had the weekend special smoked mackerel sandwich on white sourdough. I tried some myself and it was mouthwateringly unreal. And now he won't shut up about how it's one of the best sandwiches he's ever eaten!

Stayed here for the night over the big Christmas weekend, very comfortable, clean room, I would definitely stay here again. We didn't eat here as we had a table booked elsewhere.

We visit the tea room and restaurant multiple times a year throughout high and low season & each time we visit, we’re never let down. This cosy and unique restaurant just a stones throw from the beach is a very lovely place to stop as opposed to the highly touristy spot of the promenade. The staff are friendly, attentive & accommodating. The place is warm & well situated, with a lovely selection of local eats, you’ll be wanting more. It’s suitable for breakfast, a cream tea & lunches I would recommend after a lovely walk around the bay and try the selection of cream teas and cakes. They are incredibly accommodating for dogs also and will even treat them to a complimentary treat bowl which is a lovely touch. The staff are fantastic and it’s reasonably priced which makes coming back all the more easier decision. Merry Christmas to everyone at the Bell Cliff Restaurant we shall see you in the near year. P.S thank you Caz for the sausages, the dogs were loving that warm treat after a cold walk along the beach.

30-12-24, we had a take away Lal Qilla, what a culinary delight, Tasty, hot and plenty of food we had. Incredible quick delivery and superb service. Highly recommended the ‘Mint Lamb’ from the specials menu. Faultless takeaway.👏

Not the fastest service, but a clean comfortable well laid out restaurant. The liked the atmosphere and choice of background music which presented well the Italian theme. Pity the staff don't have a uniform to match. The food was absolutely fine.

Ordered. The full breakfast and a veggie. Full breakfast was awful, cheap, deep fried sausages, bacon and mushrooms.,, needless to say the dogs ate the meat content. The coffee was drinkable, so, to cap I had egg on toast, as I don’t like baked beans!!! Lesson learned!

Beautiful crisp chips. Wonderfully fresh fish. If, like me, you need gluten free they will cook your choice on the griddle, with no batter. Polite and friendly service.

Gem of a place, best steak ever, thought it might just have been mine but the whole family said it was the best they ever had.

A really lovely Restaurant the food was superb we had Sole Meunier and it was cooked to perfection we all thoroughly enjoyed the food The vegetables were cooked well and though we were the only table in the restaurant the staff were lovely and the Head waiter was totally professional. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely Restaurant. And if you love fish this is the perfect place to go .
