The best restaurants in Salisbury St Paul's Wiltshire South West

14 friends met up on a New Year's celebration, we were greeted and seated efficiently and after a long pause we finally had our drinks order underway. Considerable time passed before any starters arrived. My first course appeared to be a ball of mozzarella in a thin orange liquid very tastless and unappealing. My main course should have been chicken but between the kitchen and the dining area it transformed into a very reasonable but slightly over done steak. The nail in the dietary coffin was supposed to be Creme brulee that had the most unusual taste and texture. We were offered alternatives but things had deteriorated so much our patience ran out and we ordered our taxi home to celebrate new year. Things certainly went wrong for our group that evening to the extent that we were offered a free free round of drinks because of the slow service and a further considerable discount on our bill. Manager take note, we often go to the Cosy Club in Bath which never disappoints.

Stopped in for a late lunch after arriving on Salisbury. Owner took time to discuss our plans and offer assistance. Lovely lunch of soup and cake served on retro china.

I placed a takeout order for vegetable curry based on the picture from the online menu. What I received, while it tasted good, was not at all what was pictured. I was expecting cauliflower, carrot, and peppers, and instead I got potatoes and onions and maybe one pea. I guess if you like brown/beige food, you’ll like it. The paneer tikka starter also did not look like the picture on the menu. Very disappointed.

Very disappointed! It’s not very often we have a takeaway but tonight after a bad week we thought we’d spend out. Saffron in the past have never disappointed. I really can’t say the same tonight. I ordered chicken madras and mushroom rice. My curry had 6 pieces of chicken in a very runny sauce. No flavour at all. My daughter who only likes korma tried it and asked what it was! My husband had a lamb tikka Pathia. That would blow my head off and I’d literally try it on the end of my fork. I’ve just asked him and he’s said 3/10 it just tasted of tomato with a massive lemon tang! Saffron. You are not cheap. We will not be coming back.

Popped in cafe today during shopping trip. The hot chocolate was rubbish. The side order of chips was the smallest I’ve ever seen! The toastie was not toasted, just bread with toasted cheese, very disappointing for Waitrose. Also the toilets stank and the water to wash your hands was cold.

Glum staff, particularly one women... totally lacking any manners. The place could do with a total refurbishment. Is Salisbury not a happy place?

Went in with a friend today around 25-30 minutes before the shop was due to close. Was met with death stares and dead pan faces, the customer service from the lady with short orange/red hair with glasses was awful! Just asked us “what did we want” and then continued to sweep and shut down the shop around us asking us to move out of the way a few times whilst she swept. However the other lady who made the shakes was nice and the shakes themselves were fantastic :)

Arrived 1 hour and 40 minutes after ordering, milkshakes was warm, food had cleary been forgotten and left somewhere, totally unedible, rang back and asked for a refund to be offered 50% of my money back, don't not order from here, staff were rude and tried to blame me for the food being cold as I live 7 miles away! Never ordering again
