Excellent tasting menu for surprisingly modest price. Deliciously varied breads and butters; great mulled wine ice cream; but the stand-out item was the superb piece of beef. Very well-chosen paired wines. A worthy successor to Hibiscus and La Becasse that previously occupied the same premises: not clear why it doesn't have a Michelin star, as they did.

We called in whilst visiting Ludlow to do a bit of shopping. We had a look around and had two takeaway coffees. We were so impressed that we went back for lunch. We ate a pepperoni pizza outside which was absolutely delicious. Pizza was on a sourdough base and was to die for. My wife and I both agreed it was the best pizza we had ever eaten (weāve had a lot) The lady owner was lovely, and a really good host. We bought a few provisions from the well stocked shop as well. Highly recommend

I have dined at Forelles many times before, always had excellent service, outstanding food and a wonderful experience. Had lunch today as part of a ādip and dineā spa package, which included 2 courses off the menu. We were seated in the conservatory which was beautifully decorated and tables nicely laid. The waiting staff, whilst friendly, clearly lacked experience. We ordered a sharing platter as a starter, this was nice, but lacked the refinement I had come to expect. Our mains were ok, I had the fish of the day which was monkfish served with quinoa and confit tomatoās and a couple of buttered new potatoes. Priced at Ā£24 I was underwhelmed. My friend had the chicken burger, again that was nothing special, a bit of fried chicken in between two slices of gluten free bread, with Asian slaw, a slice of tomato and lettuce leaf. The accompanying chips were crispy but needed sauce or mayonnaise. The waiters didnāt follow up to ask if we wanted more drinks or desserts, I went to find them to order a pot of tea! Eating at Forelles in the past was an experience that exceeded expectations, unfortunately the same cannot be said for it now. Sadly I think this will be my last visit here, I will have to find an alternative for fine dining in the Ludlow area. We were so underwhelmed we didnāt even take any photos.

We'd been wanting to try the Japanese night for a while and finally had a night that we could go so we were looking forward to it. There were about 5 other tables of couples when we arrived. We were all crammed in to one end of the fairly large seating area, so we had to get to know our neighbours fairly quickly. We went for 3 courses thinking we could add the dessert if we had room. The sushi was dry and average. My starter was the gyoza, which turned out to be tuna gyoza. I was expecting a little more than tinned tuna in a dumpling, but that's what I got. My partner had the tempura prawn which were great - hot and crispy. Those 2 courses were served efficiently, but we had to wait about 25 minutes for the main to arrive. Mine was the white miso salmon. Again, I was expecting a little more than just a piece of salmon on plain rice. It was served with about 5 edamame beans and a spoonful of kimchi, but that was it. My partner had the fillet steak and opted for noodles. He offered me a piece of steak to try, but it was a small portion, so I didn't accept the offer. We did have room for dessert, but we decided against it. A bill of Ā£70 was enough. I'm afraid we won't be going back and we won't be recommending it. I have to say that the two waitresses were brilliant though. Very sweet girls.

Delicious fresh cooked food with generous portions in a historical setting ( the old school). Very friendly service and as we were the last ones to leave we had the privilege of talking to the owners all about Greece. It was a really enjoyable evening and good value too! Would highly recommend.

Cannot quite understand some previous reviews as they do not align with our experience. On both our visits the cakes and snacks were excellent, well accomplished cooking and tea and coffee were good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Furniture is simple but is not poor condition and is sufficient for this establishment. Excellent little cafe with superb patisserie.

Another delicious lunch at Chapter 66. The food is stylish and delicious whether you have a simple bowl of soup or the fish cake. We are very lucky to have Chapter 66 in Ludlow. Why eat a horrible sandwich when you can have this standard of food for just a little more?
