Not a bad pub but needs to have a warmer atmosphere, especially at Christmas time, not much in Christmas decor and the saddest Christmas tree I've ever seen with one string of lights and about 5 decorations. There were plenty of drink options but not a very warm, friendly welcome, I get that it's busy, but... as it's Christmas, I've been kind with the stars.

We called in here wanting a late lunch. We had homemade tomato soup, cheese sandwiches, egg mayonnaise sandwiches and a seasonal cranberry and brie ciabatta. Sandwiches were freshly made, we then had delicious homemade cakes as well. Everything was reasonably priced and very good quality. Other cafes in the area were very expensive, this is a real gem! The staff were really friendly and helpful. The cafe was cosy and all the food was delicious. Highly recommended.

Decided to lunch here 20 Nov after browsing menu and seeing that the place was half full. We ordered, soup & a steak & onion baguette + 2 coffees. Soup was ok but the steak & onion baguette was rubbish . £14.95 and it consisted of a small baguette with three very small pieces of meat, one of which was just fat. Chips were ok but at £14.95 it was a complete rip off. We will most definitely not be dining here again and I suggest to any prospective diners, have a look around the town before eating here. There must be far better cafes in the town.

I visited here twice while staying in Ludlow, once for tea and cake and once for lunch. On both occasions I’ve been impressed. Service, at the counter, was fast and friendly, the whole place, tables included was very clean, and the food has been excellent. For lunch I ordered a grilled cheese and toasted sandwich. You order at the counter and take your food out to a table (which I see as a slight negative, waitress service would be nicer, but you get what you pay for). My toastie took maybe 10 minutes to arrive, and was served with a small green salad. And how was it, you ask? It was excellent. Bill’s clearly uses quality ingredients because bread, cheese and ham were all delicious. And they take care over the preparation and plating too. Best of all, the 10 pounds I paid seemed good value for what I had. In a side note, Bill was working in his Ludlow cafe the day I went for lunch, bussing tables and helping out behind the counter. I’m always impressed by a boss/owner who’s not afraid to muck in and get his hands dirty, so kudos for that Bill.

We called in for lunch on a damp and miserable Wednesday. Our mood was totally lifted by our visit to Chapter 66 cafe in Ludlow Castle. The drinks were great and the food was totally delicious. We shall certainly visit here again soon.

This was a pleasant coffee lounge above a store which did fabric alterations. It was a pleasant place to relax and enjoy a quiet coffee and nice cake. The lounge is right by the railway station, and I imagine it would be a nice place to chill out for a coffee while you wait for a train!
