The best restaurants in Ironbridge Gorge Telford and Wrekin West Midlands

We ate here this week, it was a great little find. Great menu, great cocktails, accommodating and polite staff. Food was great however homemade guacamole and salsa would have made the food better. Hope to visit again soon

We turned up to this already busy cafe as a party of 12 and a dog and were welcomed in by the staff with tables being moved and extra chairs brought in. The service was quick and good natured and the drinks and food excellent.....just sorry we didn't have room for the delicious looking cakes. Thank you so much.

Everything about the Half Moon is great, the riverside location is superb and ample seating is provided. Food is varied, well cooked and plentiful. Well worth visiting.

I can only rate this as a restaurant as this is where our company had its Christmas Do. The drinks were really expensive, and I mean exorbitantly. The Christmas meals were pretty tasteless, obviously out of a packet, and very badly prepared. The roast potatoes were dry, shrivelled, and tasteless. I'm sure this is probably a lovely place to stay, and the meals are probably really nice, when cooked to order. They just aren't able to do mass-produced events.

The Elephant Crossing came recommended by a few local sources. It's essentially a two floor establishment serving up Tex Mex fayre. The place was busy which did mean pretty slow service. Regarding the food, well this was a bit underwhelming. We went for the tacos which at £12 for two shells doesn't feel like good value for money. On top of that the food was luke warm. In summary, a bit disappointed. Certainly didn't live up to the hype.

What a lovely little little place right on the Main Street. Excellent finger-licking food, quick service, and amazing value for money. If I am ever in Iron Bridge again I am definitely coming.

Our experience was not good but the place is well decorated and clean and the staff at least tried to keep the costumers happy. We went for lunch and the food was very poor. The worst was that one of us ordered fried chicken filets and we got a mix of fish and chicken. Unfortunately the person was untolerant to fish so imagine the scene in the toilet. At least we were not charged for the dish. We were never asked about allergies as now is normal practice on most restaurants. Other disappointing things were that the focaccia was replaced as a slice of normal bread with butter. The coffee was served without spoons but that is a detail of the very basic service we had. We will surely never come back and I hope other people get better experiences. Good luck.

Fantastic! Due to illness I have a restricted diet and struggle to find somewhere I can eat out BUT Darby’s is an exception. They are so accommodating and the menu is so varied, it is a win all round. My husband was delighted with his chicken and bacon panini which came with a large portion of salad that was lovely and a good helping of coleslaw too plus some tortillas! My scrambled eggs were very tasty and the large mug of coffee was piping hot. Fantastic service - genuinely keen to see if we were entirely happy with our meal. Definitely worth a visit.
