The best restaurants in East Riding of Yorkshire Yorkshire and The Humber

Sadly we didn't have a good experience. We had gone for my daughter"s birthday. The table was booked for 6.30pm with having a 10 year old with us. On the night there was 2 shooting functions on making it very rowdy. I felt sorry for the waitresses trying to get food to tables.(one tripped over) The men from the function were trying to compete who could talk the loudest, making it difficult for us to talk between ourselves.As they had more to drink the language was not good. As we were eating they kept putting there drinks on our table. I understand that thy were spending lots of money which every pub wants, but I wish we had been told about the function when booking as we would of come another night. We never stayed to have a pudding, just wanted to get out. It ruined our experience. The waitress was very good.and apologised saying she couldn't understand why they had to be so load. She did say there was a room for them but they seemed to want to stay by the bar. As for the food it was fine but all we wanted to do was get out. My daughter and partner were upset it had turned out like that, especially it being her birthday treat. They had been before and thoroughly enjoyed it.

This was our 3rd visit to the Bay Horse. It just gets better & better. We’ve celebrated two birthdays. In July was my parents diamond wedding anniversary celebration with 24 guests. When you arrive it’s a lovely welcome from Tim at the bar. Yvonne helped effortlessly create an interesting menu to cater for everyone’s wants & needs. We had the function room, beautiful sunny setting with doors onto the patio. Our food was fabulous, all arrived on time. Beautifully presented, tasted amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. I’ve no hesitation recommending The Bay Horse

First visit to this lovely little restaurant to celebrate 🍾 both Mother’s Day and my wife's 60th birthday and we were not disappointed! The setting in the window table with background music and plenty of space was perfect. We ate off the a la carte menu and we both had three courses complimented by a bottle of fizz. Each course was food heaven and the service was exceptional so we will be returning for the Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday in April. Thank you

4 of us went in for a meal. Tasty food, decent portions and good service. Would definitely come back here.

Great food as always, great service from Gareth, James, Donna and the team. James very attentive to how you are and how the food is. Highly recommended if in the area!!!!! Also had a takeaway carvery today, again was great food !!! Quick delivery too. A++++

Una gran selección de platos, incluyendo vegano para nuestra amiga que estaba encantado con su desayuno vegano. Excelentes anfitriones, un buen hallazgo en esta ciudad.

Stopped by to pick up two cod and chips. entry and exit was via different doorsChips were well cooked and tasty with a strong vinegar, The Fish was good and white with a good crisp thin batter and plenty of scraps.The girls behind the counter were very polite and knew there jobrecommended and the location right by the harbour, would make it an excellent place to sit and eat your meal if you wished

¡No, dónde está la comida como la cocina, es una locura! Las ensaladas son enormes y mi favorito absoluto. El personal es muy amable y los pasteles son para morirse!

Muy decepcionado. Hemos sido un visitante habitual de esta comida para llevar durante años. De hecho, era nuestra tienda favorita de fish and chips en todo el Reino Unido. Mi otra reseña está aquí de nuestra última visita. Lamentablemente en esta visita me entristeció francamente la disminución de la calidad. El pescado estaba bien, pero la masa era grasosa y desagradable. Las patatas estaban empapadas y obviamente mal cocinadas. El tamaño de la porción era simplemente inadecuado. ¡El pescado era un "grande"! ¿En serio? Obviamente su definición es diferente a la mía. Tamaño de la porción. Pequeño. Y por 11 libras. 20 ! Sobreprecio. ESA SERÁ MI ÚLTIMA VISITA. Qué pena. Otro fish and chips sale de mi lista rápidamente menguante.

After an horrendous day stranded on the A166 with 2 small children after car breakdown , we was finally rescued by my brother who drove us to Stamford Bridge, while the driver remained awaiting pick up truck , we was greeted by wonderful staff who realised we was all frozen and without food for several hours for the little ones , they very kindly gave us hot drinks and cold ones for the kids and a bowl of fries also, I have never received such kindness from a place , they let us have it on them , what a wonderful caring team , I will be back as a regular paying customer . What a beautiful gem we discovered today , huge heartfelt gratitude, it won’t be forgotten xxxxx

Do NOT go here for roast dinner. That (Terrible) Tea Room was an absolute joke. Forget a 15 minute wait for tap water, or even the 40 minute wait for the "food" - Do not advertise Sunday Roast if it isn't. Slimy, cold beef served with a dry yorkshire pudding, 2 roast potatoes and a "selection" of steamed veg and greasy mashed potato. We walked out before even attempting to consume what we'd been given. SO poor. No problem with the servers, it's not their fault - but goodness they seemed way out of their depth. Stick to cakes and sandwiches chaps.

Very delicious brunch! 4 of us all had something different and we were all very happy with our food. Very fresh ingredients.

I've used the takeaway service several times now since covid and the first couple of times was hit and miss. I was not impressed with the plain rather overpriced hot dog. But I persevered and I have now discovered the beef Piri burger which is delicious, their chips are genuinely the nicest I've ever had! However, the 'home made' desserts were really disappointing. They come in a carton with the manufacturer's name on it. Clearly factory made and frozen, very small portion at £3.80 each I feel completely ripped off!
