We called on spec today for a quick lunch prior to visiting friends in the area. The welcome was friendly. Staff and customers were most welcoming to our two little dogs. How nice this was. The food was most acceptable . Decent-sized portions and a lovely selection of seasonal vegetables. Pity not all pubs are so accommodating.

This was the first place we came across that did a breakfast. Visited as a family of 3 with our 7 year old. The husband ordered a breakfast (£12). He asked not to get tomatoes and was given an extra hash brown. I'm not sure if he was charged for this as we weren't given a receipt. The daughter wanted pancakes... £9. We were offered a small portion (I was just going to share with her), so, 2 small portions. Small portion had 2 pancakes instead of 3.. they weren't overly big. Typically, they would come with seasonal toppings, which we were advised to be apple cinnamon, I think. This wasn't to our taste, so we were offered and accepted Nutella. When the pancakes came, they also had squooshy cream and ice cream. Really not to my taste at all. Ice cream at breakfast? I hate ice cream melting into anything (fudge cake etc) so if I knew it was coming with, I would have asked for without or on the side.. I didn't want to raise the issue (this makes my husband uncomfortable). Therefore, I had to eat the unwanted ice cream quickly before it melted. Husband had a tea with his breakfast and I opted for a caramel latte. Small cup given and to.be honest, was Luke warm. Nice flavours but, Luke warm. Daughter asked for a hot chocolate and they offerred a small version for her. She ate the cream off thw top but in thw words of a 7 year old "the hot chocolate tastes funky." She didn't finish it. The only toilet is up 3 steps. Fine for us, not if less mobile. All in £30ish quid. No receipt given.

Why do staff In the Thirsk branch not wear disposable gloves when making bacon and sausage sandwiches? How do I know the lady who served me hadn't just picked her nose or not washed her hands from visiting the bathroom? She also had really long hair, that wasn't tied up and dangled over the front of her in the direction of my bacon butty! Do you think this is acceptable?

Ate here a few times can't argue with the food was great Had my family over this new year and fancied a Chinese takeaway on new years day we spent £62 on 3 mains and a couple of sides, also some chips !! Guys don't know whats going on it's the worst takeaway iv ever had !! I've lived here 4yrs I'm not one to complain ,I pre ordered this so it was an hr before we picked it up,it was not even warm the chips were horrendous like they were reheated on a few occasions, the duck was more than crispy and the the chow mein was very gloopy. Guys that was hard earned money fir an absaloutly bad takeaway Might have been a bad evening for the chef but it was expensive for us As I say iv never had a problem before

We booked the Christmas Package what can I say ? Room was nice modern but so hot it was like the amazon. We had the window open all night to no avail, food very disappointing, seriously poor 34 pounds for a bottle of wine that we sent back it was so bad. Should have had christmas lunch in weatherspoons. Sort it out Golden Fleece, tired and mediocre at best.

Best tasting curry house in the Thirsk area, but they're often busy so the food can take a while. TBH, we always use them as a takeaway as our very young kids aren't restaurant friendly at the moment. Food usually can be picked up 30 to 45 minutes after you phone your order in.

This was a superb pub for drinking, located conveniently across from the train station for a quick stop! The block across the ceiling adds a nice feel covered by placemats and counter is well-presented, staff were friendly too. I had a refreshing pint of Red Stripe at comfortable seating, appreciating the old school character of this pub!

Cafe Nero Thirsk has become a dirty, filthy Coffee shop, not worth visiting !!!! over the past 6 to 12 Months the standards have fallen so far, the only solution is to close it and completely refurbish it!!!! The Chairs and Tables are only fit for the Rubbish Dump!! The walls and floors are dirty and marked.!! The cleaning is very poor and not fit for purpose!!!! The customer toilet is not fit for purpose, it is filthy and certainly unhygienic. The filth around the Doorframe is a breeding ground for God knows what!!! Staff checks are a joke, and more times than not there is no Toilet Roll!!! The food choice isa boring and storage is suspect!!! Staff whilst friendly enough , do not appear to be interested in their workplace and how it looks to customers !!!!
