Lovely cafe upstairs, quite busy on a sunny day. We ordered Meze for one and a Fish and Chips. The waiter asked if I wanted bread and butter with that, so I said yes. Really nice food arrived no complaints there. With drinks, the total was about £44 which was about right. Looking at the receipt, the bread and butter was charged at £2.95! That was for a single slice of brown bread, sliced diagonally. £2.95 for a slice of bread!!! Ridiculous. Sadly, they didn't get a tip because I felt stupid paying three quid for that.

Visited last Friday evening after settling into our lodge and after a long drive from home. Staff very friendly. We had not booked but they managed to fit us in. Quite busy. Very good variety on menu and portions big. Great value for money. Starters of Cheese soufflé and deep fried Camembert (off the Christmas specials menu). Main courses - Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Fajitas, Turkey baguette, roast potatoes and gravy. Definitely recommend. Look forward to trying breakfasts next time we come.

Attended through work as part of a management day. When we arrived there were croissants and pain au chocolate which were yummy. We also got a 3 course Christmas dinner. Parsnip soup - lovely. I had turkey for mains. It came with sprouts, stuffing, roast potatoes and parsnips. One thing I didn't like was that the gravy was already on the meal. I like to add my own gravy. Desert was chocolate and orange tart which I didn't enjoy as the chocolate was very dark and bitter - but that's a personal taste. Overall enjoyed the meal and the day.

Website says offers takeaway: no menu can be found online (so we ordered what we assumed they'd have) and they don't offer delivery. What was reslly disappointing is you could only pay with cash- they did not inform us of this on the phone when ordering, so we had to go to the nearest cash point (3 miles away). The food was fine, but a bit more information online would have led to a much better experience.

Visited as a couple 7 March. We were staying in the hotel. Ambience was good. The eating area could perhaps do with a bit of updating but it is fine. Menu is a mix of pub classics and more adventurous dishes. I had one of the latter as a starter, Lamb Tagine Roll with harissa mayo and smoked aubergine purée. Very good. The roll had chunks of lamb and the mayo had a kick. Tasted and presented very well. I had steak and ale pie for main. Appeared home made with real chips. Again very good Mrs W had the pork belly which she enjoyed too. We had a very nice bottle of NZ Sav Blanc as well. Very good value.

Great for pumpkin picking - a vast variety of shapes, sizes and colours and well organised with the barrows, washing facilities and play areas. The well organised comment doesn’t stretch to the catering side though - which is crucial, far from home with young children. Tickets were on sale for late afternoon but upon arrival all hot food was sold out (pizzas and pumpkin soup) so we had a couple of family’s of hungry children with only cakes to try and fill them. Far from ideal. Lovely staff, as usual, and great to see a few more games in the barn this year but come on, ensure the catering stretches until the time you sell tickets for.
