The best restaurants in Harrogate Yorkshire and The Humber

Revisiting from a few years ago but sadly gone downhill. Preordered for a large group with seating plan, sadly some steaks were incorrectly cooked, staff were just calling out orders with no clue who or which table each meal was intended for. My chips came after I’d finished my main, I couldn’t have waited as it would have been cold. No salad of any description with the kids burger. A steak is served with a token strand of water cress, no veg, onion rings, mushrooms. All probably available as extras but considering the cost of a poor cut to begin with…….very costly for the quality of food and service. For private dining you’d expect an elevated level of service and certainly, as a service charge is automatically added. This can and was deducted upon request. One last note to point out, the pub is dog friendly as there were dogs happily sitting on the furniture, however if you do book the private dining area dogs are not allowed in case they damage the carpet. Judging by the state of the chairs the carpet is the least of the concerns. When you start to look there is a lot that is tired and grubby throughout. Finally some but not all of the staff were very polite and helpful, it’s just a shame the overall management of the facility has slipped.

we ordered a butter chicken , but they sent a korma, thinking we would not notice.

We eat out most Sundays and this used to be one of the more special ones to visit. Always a bit pricey but worth it. However today was very disappointing, service was shockingly bad and food wasn't much better. Waitress was borderline rude and inattentive. Food was only just warm, hardly any meat, and carrots and parsnips that looked and tasted like christmas leftovers. Desserts had shrunk and at £10 looked woefully small. Don't pay extra for crackling...its as tough as old boots... brought it home for the dog and even she wasn't impressed! At over £72 for two, we feel pretty ripped off and will be taking this off our lists of regulars.

Best service I’ve ever received in a restaurant, staff were swift in a pleasant manner and I’ve never felt so looked after in a restaurant. Had drinks, starters and were asked about mains within 5 minutes of sitting down. Food was exceptional and atmosphere was perfect with excellent lighting and a smile on everyone’s face. Would recommend to all. 👍🏼

My favourite eatery but terrible gluten free fish Had numerous fantastic meals but unfortunately the fish and chips were terrible The batter was too brittle and the skin left on made it difficult to slice making a mess on the plate and the mushy peas were slightly warm. The worst plate of food I have ever had and will be amaze if this stays on the menu over a month

Ordered Singapore noodles had no taste and ordered the salt and pepper box which is very bland Would not order again from here 1st too try the food No taste , sorry for the bad review but the food is awful

This place is a diamond in the rough. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the food is amazing and the atmosphere is great. Don't know what you like, ask the staff. Their knowledge of the food is spot on. I've tried dishes I would never have thought of if ordering by myself. I can't rate this place high enough! Just superb.

I became a wee coffee addict in years I quit drinking I've visited this costa on trips to ripon for work. Service is spot on, drinks are as you'd expect and the nice lil touch on lid is something that might make someone's day......top notch to hospitality workers

Decent pub, next to the market as the name Implies.

Food not up to standard received elsewhere and wrong dish arrived. Correct dish was made but exceedingly quickly the meat was tough. Bit of a disappointment.

The Best Fish and Chips in Harrogate Probably, No Definitely the BEST. I have tried them all and these are the best by far, go try for yourself I know that you will not be disappointed 😃

Nice little bar and cafe with a good choice of drinks but limited food choices. Pretty sure the food is reheated from frozen - fine if you can't be bothered to cook for yourself but nothing special. Staff were friendly.

Haven’t been here for years. Seafood platter cost more than £50. Lobster tasted frozen. Vegetables basic. Disappointed.

I absolutely love the place, I can't fault a single thing with the food, every single item is cooked to perfection with love. The set of staff are extremely welcoming and super interesting. Mainly Mo Ali, he's a friendly guy who's made me a returning customer due to his fantastic charisma and bubbly personality. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful and will set you back as you step in due to the beauty of the environment. 10/10 experience on all of my visits. Would highly recommend.
