A lovely building, well set out, not too crowded. Typical 'spoons food. Toilets were surprisingly close.

Had a fantastic evening here, the food was all great, no complaints from a party of 7. Importantly to me, not only was the food cooked as I'd expect, it was served quickly and hot. Great service from Jeremy, who speedily brought me a coffee, after understanding I'd had a long day and needed a quick pick me up. Subito, non sono stanko!

I emailed The curious cow on 27th Dec after our terrible experience on Boxing Day evening and sent a follow up email on 3rd Jan and still have not had any communication from the - copy of email content : We booked for a table of 13 at 6.15 Boxing Day evening. We had been looking forward to this family meal, as my son had come up from Bath with my grandchildren for the Christmas holidays. We have been to your restaurant in several occasions and thought we would get a decent meal, firstly a soup starter came out stone cold but then I was so embarrassed when our mains arrived. It was awful. The turkey dinners looked like they had been in the oven since lunchtime and some of the food was inedible- burnt sprouts, burnt sausage meat, burnt pigs in blankets and rock hard roast potatoes and soggy turkey Needless to say - a lot of it didn’t get eaten. Those who did eat it did so because they were hungry and hadn’t eaten much during the day due to wanting to enjoy their evening out. I did complain at the time and had the cost of 3 meals deducted from the bill, but it totally spoilt our family night out and some people left feeling hungry still. I understand the need to prep food in advance as my son who attended last night has worked in hospitality all his life running restaurants and hotels, but what was served last night was beyond ‘prepping in advance’ given you had the orders well in advance. Given the deposit and bill cost nearly £400, it was really poor and I also felt a bit sorry for the servers having to serve those meals out to customers. Really disappointing that we had a really bad experience and no one has had the courtesy to respond.

The food was lovely, hot, well cooked and nicely presented. We came with our dog and this wasn’t a problem. Staff were attentive and welcoming. What a lovely place we will be back again soon !

We went for Sunday lunch today the place is clean and has a nice ambiance the lady behind the bar was extremely friendly and helpful our meal however, presentation was very good but the mash had lumps in it, the veg was overcooked, roasties undercooked, Yorkshire puddings burnt, the meat I had beef and my husband had pork which were beautifully cooked, but the food was cold, not a pleasant overall experience, it was 12.30 and only us in so we couldn’t work out why the food was cold, we won’t go again we will stick with the barn in hornsea

My order was cold and it was an hour late!! I want a refund.

Middle of January, no heating other than an electric blow heater blowing cold air out propped on top of a table. Waitress very pleasant but filthy clothes. Stair carpets filthy. Food ok, the cafe looked very grubby, wont be going back. Come on get your staff some clean overalls, new carpets, put the heating on.

Ask to use toilet they was very helpful not like the premier inn up the road that didn't let me go to toilet

Super spot by he river with plenty of outdoor seating. Great for a cuppa after a dog walk or a dip.

Fish very small and extremely over cooked not the best experience for the price

Thoroughly enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast with unlimited tea/coffee. Service was quick and the staff were friendly.

This place is my favourite Chinese takeaway, the food is lovely, very quick service and fairly priced! It's a cash only takeaway
