The best restaurants in Harrogate Yorkshire and The Humber

The food and service were fantastic. We went as a large Christmas works party and nothing was too much trouble. They accommodated a late booking when no other restaurants in the Harrogate area would for such a large group. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Many of us had not been before but decided as it was recommended by a chef, and we will certainly go again! The only improvements could be with the atmosphere and decor could do with a revamp.

Excellent scone (grandma’s recipe) and tea out of china cups. Unlike many other cafe/teashops in Knaresborough, it’s open after 4pm and dog friendly.

Absolutely the only place to go for a full English in Harrogate! It was piping hot, (which is essential to a full English) and high quality sausage and bacon (also essential). Cooked by Guler and served by Tyfur, the lovely Turkish couple who run the cafe. It was spotlessly clean and had a nice ambience as well! We were in Harrogate for three days for the Christmas market and ended up eating here, the last two mornings. I’m sure the other food on offer would be equally as good!

Cannot believe reviews from Dan P, Tracey H and Paul Sanderson, £18 for a starter and main course is not expensive unless you usually eat at wetherspoons or similar. Food is excellent, staff are excellent. If you want more meat on the carvery they are more than happy to give it to you, all you need to do is ask. Keep up your good work chequers inn.

Great food. The service from Lauren, Jennifer and Pablo was excellent. Will definitely go back and recommend it to others.

Food was absolutely delicious 10/10 Delivery was very slow we waited 2 hours for 1 pizza, 1 kebab - as slow as the delivery was the food was worth the wait - BEST pizza

Stayed here on our way home to the West Country we stay almost every year. And this year was just as good as previous years. This year we stayed in house opposite the room I believe was called Braxton? It had a shower over the bath and a nice sized bathroom. The bed was huge and very comfortable, there ware extra pillows/blankets etc in a wardrobe if needed. There was kettle and cafetière with coffee bags. The breakfast the next morning was all cooked to order and great poached eggs. I would highly recommend this hotel and will be staying there again next year. :-)))))

We stayed nearby I Nidd area and walked into the village of Ripley Castle to get a feel of the area and booked a evening meal. We was not dissapointed on sevice, portion quality and did some thing we had never done. Book the next 3 nights to dine and choose something different each from the menu. Between us we tried 6 different items and felt quality service and price was consistent throughout the 4 nights. One night was extremly busy but we were kept informed and not as long a wait we hope. Tip book a table if you can, price we was amazed for the quality and price how reasonable it was. We also live in a very sought after to visit area and these prices were improved on ours.

Was a very warm welcome by staff. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Sunday lunch was gorgeous and so was the sticky toffee pudding! Nice atmosphere

There are 'good' welcomes...There are 'great' welcomes...and then there is a Danyella welcome! From the 1st moment she was delightful, helpful, absolutely charming and lovely! Lovely fire in the REAL grate! Good beers and altogether a smashing way to drink a few beers! Thank you!

We stayed a night here whilst walking the nidderdale way. Claire looked after us really well with lovely food for dinner, a warm fire, friendly service and great beer. Breakfast was brilliant, and the room was clean and comfortable. Very lovely stay thank you.

Excellent place. We went for breakfast and had the avacado on toast and the Mexican eggs. Both lovely. Great coffee as well. The staff were friendly and helpful.

No dairy-free ice cream options available at the ice cream kiosk in The Valley Gardens. With allergies being so common these days, it’s surprising and disappointing that a place like this doesn’t offer alternatives.
