The best restaurants in Avenue Kingston upon Hull, City of Yorkshire and The Humber

Called here on a recommendation from a friend, he said get there early, he wasn’t wrong. We got there for 11.50am, it was pouring down, it opened at 12 & there was people before us got a table and were sat down, clearly this wasn’t there first time. It’s not a big place, long and thin, by 12.10pm it was full. We ordered drinks, ( cash or card ) a very big choice, lots of different beers and ciders I hadn’t seen before, guest ales and ipa’s, I had a drink that looked like Guinness but tasted nothing like it, very nice and I had another just to make sure I liked it 😂 We ordered Sunday lunch from a hatch at the end of the pub, cash only 👍🏼 Sunday lunch is £15.00 there’s a few extras that are £4.00 each, but there was plenty of food on your plate, very good value for money, I had roast beef & my partner had the beef brisket, we both said the flavours were delicious, the food was nice and hot, a good selection of vegetables Yorkshire pudding were huge. Overall I recommend mr moody tavern, but you do need to get there early, personally I would prefer table service, rather than going to collect the food myself and would happily pay more for this service, but It does add to the qwerkiness of the whole place, it’s quite hip and trendy, not somewhere you would take kids, thankfully there wasn’t any this time & would I go again ? Yes I certainly would. Will try a different dish next time, and of corse I would get there early 👍🏼

It is a veg and vegen restaurant which I'm not but it's worth going. Something different. A new place that needs Ur local support

Shame I can't give zero stars. Restaurant took the booking, send an email the night before to confirm. We turned up place was well and truly closed and must have been for sometime.

Fantastically delicious cuisine, with awfully terrible service when we visited. Despite being the only diners in the restaurant the waitress seemed overwhelmed and came across rude and snappy all evening, making rudimentary mistakes all night long. The management needs to train their staff better and not leave such people alone to their own devices in the workplace. The food made up for it though and I’m sure we just had a naff waitress, I would still recommend this restaurant owing to the food being wonderful and just put it down to bad luck with the waiting staff on our visit.

the guy who served us (who I think was also the chef and the owner?) was super lovely and seemed to genuinely enjoy his work which makes the experience so much nicer. The food was well priced, was a good portion, and so delicious. We got the beef bourguignon and the bacon cheeseburger and both were cooked perfectly and came out hot with fries and salad. We went on a Tuesday and eventhough it was quiet the ambience was still nice and cute. Perfect for a date night, would definitely recommend and would go back!

So happy to discover this spot, which should become your new regular for Pizza night no doubt. The Piccante Pizza was excellent, soft and chewy dough with a crisp exterior, and great topping choice - I’d be super interested in an Italian sausage meat version next time however. The Arancini came with a great sauce and I really like pairing them with the pizza, however - on this occasion the rice was too wet and under-seasoned/flavoured. A small miss on an otherwise delicious meal. I’m excited to try the deserts when I get chance to dine in, they looked great when I came in to collect, and I can tell the staff create a great atmosphere in the restaurant. Thanks for the meal!

Myself & partner visited with another couple, We all opted for the Buffett menu , which is an all you can eat. You order dishes from a menu , you start by ordering 4 dishes each. Then 3. Then 2 but you can the order more if you wish. They are all small plates but very tasty. We all enjoyed the food & company. The service was really good & we had a laugh with the waiter. My partner & I have visited numerous times & have never been disappointed. 100 recommend

La comida italiana más deliciosa y auténtica. Tan triste que está cerrado. Espero que se abra pronto. Grandes recuerdos durante unos 7 años con mi esposa e hijo. Este restaurante será muy extrañado, pero permanecerá en mis recuerdos para siempre.

Popped for tea one Wednesday night. Lovely clean pub and friendly bar staff. Quickly found a table then went to the bar to order food and drinks. Ordered Fish and Chips and pepsi. The food came quickly. The fish was massive good portion of fries with mushy peas and a pot of tartar sauce. Tasted great, will pop again.

Use this place alot as good food at reasnoble price..

My partner and I had a reservation at 7pm on 18/01/25. We were seated very quickly and given a food menu but was told there was no drinks menu currently, they didn’t have enough for some reason. We waited 20 minutes before leaving as no one had even come over to take a drink order in this time. Other people came in after us who had booked a table to be told there wasn’t a table despite having booked. The staff made a makeshift table next to us, near the door. Another customer also complained as they’d reserved a booth due to having a baby and walked out. My partner and I had had enough of being ignored and walked out and ate elsewhere. The staff looked rushed off their feet and stressed. The whole thing seemed very unorganised.

Nothing but the best , a very warm and welcoming small cafe on a well connected business park . Great selection of food and drinks for breakfast or lunch . Amazing friendly staff . The cafe is clean and tidy with an outside seating area perfect for a summer day break time. Vegetarian meals are available. Ample parking.

Ordered lobster ravioli and literally an hour later I have an upset stomach. Feel really really sick I’m just preying the lobster wasn’t contaminated, or gone bad it’s literally making me feel ill thinking about it!
