Thought I’d give this place a try. When I walked in, It said on the counter, 60p fee for spending under £5 on the card, which is a bit naughty. I then asked for a portion of onion bhajis which was £3 (a bit pricey for a small village take away). I also asked if he could put some chilli sauce on and then he said £3.50. A charge fee for asking for a bit of chill sauce on my bhajis. Greedy! I won’t be going back.

We visited Thorncliffe Farmshop Tea Room - the breakfast, brunches are great, we have been before - the staff are extremely good. However, I now find myself having to stick to a 'gluten-free diet' (having had to supervise my daughter with Coeliac Disease since she was a toddler, 34 years ago, when times were not as enlightened)! I was somewhat surprised to be charged an extra £2.50 to have gluten free bread with my scrambled eggs instead of 'normal bread'. How difficult would it be to have some GF bread in the freezer and bring out a couple of slices for a customer, without having to impose a charge extra? I have travelled widely and only here have I come across any extra charge! The cafe is just not up-to-date with dietary expectations and it felt like a 'penalty' for something which is now widely recognised as a 'dietary need' both at home and abroad. This is not some kind of 'fad' - it is a necessity for someone following a gluten-free diet, whether they be a full blown Coeliac or someone with 'gluten intolerance', and it has significant consequences!

They do great breakfasts here and provide good, honest, value for money food. The staff are pleasant too.

Hardly any topping on pizza. Ordered it for 18.30 and had to wait til nearly 7pm

1st time I’ve used them in about 10 years and I won’t be back for another 10. Delivery quoted at an hour which Saturday night I get it can be busy - took over 2 hours to come. Called after an hour and was told he was just cooking meal now give him 15 minutes and it still took another 30 minutes to come. was literally about to call back to say don’t bother when the driver pulled up. Food was nice and portions good but not nice enough I’d wait 2 hour for it again.
