Typical local pub really. Nothing that stands out, quite a few locals and sky sports. Downside is the drinks are expensive, needs modernising and the landlord / lady arnt the friendliest I've seen.

Good selection of food, I chose a tuna mayo jacket potato and a chicken salad sandwich. The portions were generous and the food was fresh and tasty. Couldn't ask for a better atmosphere and service, both were friendly, happy and polite. Happy Mid Autumn Festival 🥮

Had the 3 course special offer food at 28.50 was nice apart from I ordered chunky homemade chips with a premium of an extra £1 only to be served frozen chips (steak nice) Desert I got creme brule which was appalling it only just covered the bottom and was not crispy on top and it had lumps in it so I sent it back..The server Rory was nice and professional but the chef when told didn't seem to care at all! For a trained chef surely he should be able to make homemade chunky chips fresh and a creme brule dessert.

The food was very disappointing, it was meant to be a Christmas meal the food was cold, dry pre-packaged turkey no sprouts no mash 1 dried up roast potato. Garlic mushrooms had 3 mushrooms in and was like a soup. When we complained his response was what do you expect for £19. Will not be going back again.

New Years Eve set menu. Very disappointing Food wasn’t great, not much if it..no veg served with mains & no options to order any .Basically had a chicken breast with a very strong sauce & a bit of potato. Cheesecake was in the menu but you couldn’t have it because it hadn’t set, best thing about it was the glass of Prosecco. Overpriced for what it was. Service was poor, it wasn’t that busy they were friendly enough but just didn’t seem to know what they doing. Maybe it was just a glitch cos I have heard good things about it but unfortunately I won’t rush back

Gorgeous Chicken Curry and chicken and sweetcorn soup on Thursday night. Only Chinese open late Thursday so I gave it a try. Lovely food at reasonable prices. I will be returning! Shame I've left it 3 years of living in Cleck to try Happy Garden.

Me and my family came for dinner. It’s not a welcoming pub. The staff are miserable apart from the young lady who give us our food: People are scattered everywhere & it has no atmosphere. Wetherspoon vibes as you have to go up to the bar and order. Starters got taken away when the mains got delivered & no new cutlery were given out. I get the impression that they’re trying to be a bit more upmarket now since the frozen kids food that they used to serve here. Fair play but they’re failing miserably. If they are going to do that they should make sure the quality of the food goes up to be in line with the hike in prices. I thought it was poor. The beef ciabatta looked lovely, cooked medium & sliced up like a steak. It was just full of fat and really chewy. Like a cheap cut steak sandwich. The gravy was like water and we all said the same about the chips.. They tasted like burger van chips, they tasted really, really oily. The burger wasn’t bad, I can’t knock that, can’t really go too wrong with a standard cheese burger though. So I’ve given an extra star for that. I wouldn’t return though. Didn’t rate anything at all. As I was leaving I heard some ladies complaining about the prices 😂 maybe you should’ve stuck to 2 meals for a tenner
