We live locally and have been here a few times, the food is always delicious every time and great service. Cannot recommend it enough for a meal in Kirkbymoorside.

Had a fantastic lunch. Beautiful food and surroundings. Every course was delicious. Our personal favourite was the scallop dish and the chicken dripping dip for the bread was inspired. Definitely one of our best ever meals.

Really friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The pizzas were fantastic as was the service. A hidden gem in a beautiful village.

A lovely tea room serving some really nice sandwiches and cakes. This is the perfect place to visit after a walk. With or without your dogs.

Great coffee and great food. Always pop in here when I am in the village. Great selection of food and cakes. Lots to chooses from and fresh bread to takeaway. Sarah's cakes are to die for.

What a gem of a place. Whilst staying in Helmsley we found this place and just loved everything about it! The decor, atmosphere and of course the cocktails were amazing. The host was friendly and very welcoming, I just wish it was our local cocktail bar. Would definitely recommend.

We love Helmsley and fancied afternoon tea. Having tried to book at a couple of local places, we popped into Number 12 as we walked from the car park. I had afternoon tea, my husband had a farmhouse platter. Absolutely delicious, great value and huge portions. The ham was top quality, sausage rolls were delicious and I had the best treacle tart ever as part of the afternoon tea. Do go and eat there, you will not be disappointed!

We have visited twice this week following long walks round the forest with our dogs. Such a friendly welcome. Delicious hot chocolate, I had Mars bar crispie slice both visits, absolutely wonderful, such generous portions. Our dogs, Stan and Charlie, were made very welcome and lived their dog sausages, an absolute bargain! The staff are so lovely. Looking forward to returning in March.

We called in for a coffee and a look around the little shops on site. The coffee was lovely. We then booked a table to return for our lunch. There was a nice choice of sandwiches, panini's, soup, daily specials, homemade cakes & scones, tea, coffees, milkshakes & cold drinks. The staff were very friendly and efficient & the coffee shop had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We chose the ham cheese & red onion chutney panini which came with a side of crisps and dressed salad with a pot of tea with a cheese scone to follow. The tea was served in lovely vintage china crockery & the panini was very tasty indeed. It can take a little while for your food to come especially at busy times as it is all prepared and cooked to order, but it is well worth the wait. You won't be disappointed 10/10

Be aware there is no mobile phone signal. The Cross Keys is a small village pub which provides accommodation, with the pleasantly decorated rooms in a separate building. Fresh milk was provided on arrival for a much needed cup of tea. Food is served in the pub every night which is good news for those walking the Yorkshire Wolds Way.After a good night’s sleep and breakfast, I collected my pack-up lunch and left Thixendale having been made welcome by Steve and Mary throughout my stay. It was great value too.
