Awful experience. First time ever trying a takeaway from here. My son’s food was ok but my chicken was stone cold in the middle and some of it raw. Contacted the restaurant and took photos. Was advised it was due to it being delivered. I explained it was hot on the outside but uncooked on the inside, I was then told it was a new chef and an apology was offered. They advised they would refund the following day. 2 weeks on no refund .

Been here a few times with a biking crowd that I ride with and every time it’s been excellent, today was no exception the food was excellent, with a fast service at a decent price. The staff are very friendly and helpful it’s well worth a try. Their cakes are to die for, they do a chocolate brownie and they are huge!! and only £4. It was that good I bought one to take home

Staff uninterested and take no pride in their work. I’m a trained barista and I couldn’t deliberately make coffee as bad as they do! I watched them pull a shot and half of it missed the cup no apology when I pointed it out and still expected to pay. Avoid at all costs!

Have been to this venue a few times but to a music night but did not realise they do a Sunday carvery. Met a friend and decided to try it. The car park was packed, we had luckily booked a table as both the bar and the main room looked full, you could eat in both places. We were shown to our seat and had to go and order and pay for our carvery and drinks at the bar. The standard carvery was £14.95 and small was £12-50 ,there was a veggie and child choice. We had one of each. You then had to queue for the carvery which took about 10 minutes. Wow what a choice , 5 different meats gammon, beef , turkey , pork even liver and onion and steak pie . You were given a large portion of meat, then helped yourself to the rest, and there was Everything you could think of on a carvery , every potato, every vegetable. When you got to the end you could take a jug of hot tasty gravy. The whole lunch was delicious and the small plate was perfect as my friend who got the standard could not eat it all. We were too full for a desert which were £6-95 each, but the people next to us did and they looked magnificent, the chocolate fudge cake was sprinkled with white chocolate flakes and a jug of cream. One of the best carvery’s i have ever had , we will be back .

We booked a one night stop travelling home to Norwich from Scotland. Pub notified in advance the restaurant would not be open. On arrival told bar would close at 7pm. (Not much point of a pub stay then!). Room wasn't really fit - no toiletries, broken light, Internet not working. But it was clean. Going out for a meal (doh!) Was advised there would be no staff staying in ovetnight and we could have an emergency contact (little use as mobile service poor). We said we weren't staying although they showed little or no interest. Faced a late night unwanted drive and lost a morning in lovely York. The pub just wasn't ready for guests. Deplorable way to treat people and positively unsafe. Avoid!

Why is it that dog owners find it difficult to understand that all people should like dogs I for one don't want dogs in a pub or restaurant where I am eating Steve j

Got a caramel shortbread and a brownie - both tasted very fresh and lovely! It was very cosy to dine in and relax for a few minutes, will absolutely come back :)

Extremely disappointed with the service from this Chinese takeaway. They missed one portion of rice from our order, and when we called to let them know, the response was unapologetic and unhelpful. We were told it would take 30 minutes to deliver the missing rice, by which time all our food would be cold. When I pointed this out, the lady on the phone told me to come and collect it myself—even though we had already paid for delivery! As if that wasn’t bad enough, while I was waiting for a resolution, without politely being asked to hold, I could hear the lady on the phone and a man (presumably the owner) shouting in Chinese in the background to everything I was explaining, which was frustrating and unprofessional. After waiting long enough and getting nowhere, I eventually hung up, cut my losses, and ate my meal without the rice. Terrible customer service and no consideration for their customers. It’s a real shame because the food is really nice but this has happened on multiple occasions now. I won’t be ordering from here again.

This outlet is ok. There is no table service here at all - no option unlike nearly every other McDs. Sadly the prices are higher here than in other locations for example with breakfast: a double bacon McMuffin meal, hash brown and hot drink is £6.09 here but £5.59 elsewhere. Also they will often, if you are eating in, give you food in bags rather than in a tray. Annoying. Nice staff.

Well you can’t beat the hospitality here, and the gods value pub meals are excellent. This venue does not pretend to be anything grand and represents what a good value pub should be serving a wonderful selection of real ales and beers with traditional bar menu. Lovely staff, lovely food and great beers. Thank you we shall come again
